CB Willie Middlebrooks released by San Fran

Not trying to be a jerk but anyone released from San Fran would not be on my short list of players to look at.

why, because they were 2-14 last year? thats why nolan was hired

he never played for SanFran (got traded there from Denver earlier in the offseason). Huge disappointment since coming into the league.

IMO he's more of a safety than a CB. And he's not better than Schulters.
 
there was talk of us trading for him at one point.

Chips when did we talk about trading for him? Sometimes a player goes to another team and has success, it can't hurt. Who I really want is Gibson and we grabbed that kid Chatman..

Just before the Broncos and the 49ers completed the Middlebrooks/Engelberger trade, there was an ESPN article that said that we had some interest in him..

welcome back..
 
Actually I thought he was doing ok this pre-season...I saw him pick one off on Friday
