CBA not going well

This will put a real damper on free agent signings this off season.

I'll look at this on the bright side, gives us a chance to cut mistakes without having to pay because of it. Those mistakes include Wilson, Ginn, and Crowder.

This could be posturing. It's like a game of chicken; whoever breaks for the bargaining table first will be at the disadvantage. So it would be natural for both sides to be distorting the picture to make it look more dire.

Especially for the guy representing the players union. Imagine your first big moment on the job being a defining moment like this.

I think it's going to look bleak up until it actually happens.

The NFL had better be careful... Us Fans arent too happy with the way its run and one more black eye might put a serious hurt on ticket sales.. Look how long it took MLB to recover from the strike year...

I actually think that it is going to be a blessing in disguise actually. And I believe that they are 'on purpose' not going to agree. Owners want to right the salary cap situations of their clubs, so what better way to do it then an uncapped season?

So this will actually have even MORE free agents available than the ones that would be FAs otherwise. It will help us with the Ronnie Brown situation as he will be under contract for one more season and become a RFA in 2011...

I'm actually looking forward to the uncapped season. Also, I believe it will force more juniors to declare for the draft. :hump:

It's hard to get a deal done when only 1 side wants to get it done.....the owners unanimously opted out of the current deal for a reason.....they won't seriously try and negotiate a deal until next offseason.

All 3 will be on our team next season. Wilson will move to SS, Ginn will stay as the #2 WR and Crowder will move to WILB. FS will be a FA and SILB will be a 1st round pick. :hi5:

Porter will be the one cut to make room for Merriman.

Ronnie would be an RFA either way this yr....with no new cba there will be a work stoppage in 2011.

and where is bell going since you got it figured out !

The problem is not with the players and the owners, but the owners and the owners. Revenue sharing is what the hold up is. As long as the Bengals share revenue from stadiums like "Landshark" while they refuse to sell the naming rights to their stadium the CBA will not get ratified.

This is an owners issue that must get fixed before they will start negotiating with the players. My guess is next year will be an uncapped year, but an agreement or extemtion will be in place before March 2011 or there would be a work stoppage.

The revenue sharing and the CBA are 2 completely different issues....though I do agree with your timetable that things will get done.

They are intertwined because the players association gets part of the revenue sharing as well. The NFLPA has sent a letter to an arbitrator challenging the owners right to drop it.
