Had it been the Pats or the sorry Packs, they would have found an excuse to broadcast the game.

No thats the truth
I will have to disagree with you on this one. You are entitled to your opinion. I believe that if there was a way for the game to be shown nationally, they would do it. It would mean a good dose of Friday night $$$$ for the NFL.....They would jump at the chance for cash if they could!!

can't blame the NFL here. They need to schedule things like this early. When they decided that the Giants/Saints would be on ABC they decided a week in advance.

CBS cannot reschudule their showings after 1 day notice

They rescheduled for the Saints and LSU and put them on Monday night games for a national viewing. I understand that they had been through alot but by the end of the weekend Miami residents may be too.

LSU moved to the Monday weeks after the Saints thing was announced. If a college game wants to compete with an NFL game, that is ok. But the NFL can't do it the other way.

It's totally different.

I know its no concellation, but look at it this way guys, us out of towners normally get the game on the ticket, local markes could be blacked out depending on attendance........ now its a little payback... local gets it, we dont...... also, anyone know the specifics on NFL network? NFL.com says the game will be aired "tape delay" sunday evening at a time to be determined.

Here in Las Cruces, NM, Comcast Cable has NFL Access in which they broadcast the scores and radio commentary only on Sundays, but then during the week, they'll replay the games, one or two per day. Hopefully they'll broadcast the game tonight, gut I'm not going to hold my breath

You are dead wrong, at least in Central Fl. We are blacked out again (after they wouldn't show the BUcs/Fins Game last Sunday) it was our turn this Sunday to see the Dolphin game (share each Sunday with Jags) but because of the change in schedule to tonite, not only will they not be shown, there will be no radio coverage either. We have a huge amount of Fin fans in Central Fl. and the Fri nite CBS TV schedule is: Dr Phil, and then 2 unknown sitcoms. Absolutely no reason not to show the game....At least S.Fl. will get it but that doesn't help up here in C Fl. It looks like the NFL would like to blackout all of the Fl.pro teams if they could and just let us fade away...I'm so furious I could chew nails. When I called the local CBS, I was told that the NFL wouldn't allow it, and slam went the phone before I could ask any more questions....no doubt they had a load of calls before mine. My husband called and asked for the Sports Director and he was gone for the day, maybe we'll get a call back but most likely not.......Either the NFL needs a complete overhaul or the Fins need their own TV station...can you imagine, according to this mornings paper no radio coverage either.......last alternative is Sports Bar and see what I can come up with there.........On Sunday they will not show the preempted game either, instead we'll get Pittsburgh/Cincinnati. Talk about throwing it in your face.....Excuse from NFL it would conflict with the HS games (Shoot, we have no HS games that are televised)... the only thing now that could be worse is that the entire state of Fl. gets hit by Wilma......BTW it will be shown only in Miami, West Palm Beach, Ft.Myers, Kansas City and Topeka.........Enjoy and please someone, give us a rundown after the game...Thanks.

Sorry folks this is not CBS's fault...It is the NFL's.
Read statement below:

"The NFL has a long-standing policy of not interfering with high school and college football said Seth Palansky, NFL publicity manager. "This is the first time we've played a game on Friday night. This is not a national game. We have rules and we don't change them."

There was even an article in the Tampa paper:
Channel 10 was scheduled to show the game in the Tampa market on Sunday, and even came out and said they would like to show the game, but NFL rule prohibit.
NFL doesn't care about the fans...Were else are you going to go to the product that they have?

I hate this crap! There is no more exhausting experience than "watching" a game thru the ticker at the bottom of the screen. :yell: :fire: :tantrum:

:barf: NFL policies

also CBS wants the $$ from the friday night prime time sitcoms.
What? They stand to get higher ratings from an NFL football game then Friday night prime time.
