Is this affecting anyone else? CBS/channel 4 is where Dolphin games are aired in Miami.

CBS and DirectTV couldn't come to an agreement on a new contract, you know, because the billionaires need that one extra dollar. Greed is killing this country.

Is anyone else feaking out over this or am I the only shmuck on here unwilling to pay for the NFL package?

Yes contract problems with all of ATT CBS blackout on U-verse also - I didn't connect the dots with the Dolphins games thou hmmmm I wasn't until I read your post

I've heard this could last into the NFL season. But when I called a couple of days ago, DirecTV told me it won't affect the Sunday Ticket. They gave me a 10% discount due to the lose of service. But was disappointed in the entire situation. The Sunday Ticket is $293 this year. Too expensive. I'll call again in late August to see what's going on. But it looks like a bad situation. I may not be able to watch the games this year if they don't give me the usual discounts.

I already cancelled my directv/Sunday ticket this season, after 15 years with it. Once AT&T partnered, they went to hell.

Fingers crossed the ticket is available through streaming soon

Good luck with that. ATT isnt playing around. I've been downgrading my services a few times over the past 6 months.

I called last week and got the Ticket for $200 upfront. I always pay it upfront as a $50 a month increase in my bill makes me want to puke. Payments until the season is over. No F'ing way.
It had nothing to do with the upfront payment.
They had given a great 12 month discount that ends on Aug 28th. They told me to call on Aug 29th. That they could not change anything as I was on the initial agreement. The retention specialist told me I should expect the same discount or at least close. That they would make it right for another 12 months.
I hope that is the case.
Direct / AT&T is getting so expensive I might have to look at other options. I hate the thought of relying on my slow DSL internet connection for games and other content.
I like regular TV. I do not watch or use steaming services. My wife uses them.

If the rumors are true about the NFL breaking up with DirecTV in favor of Amazon for streaming services, I'll eventually cancel DirecTV. But for at least until my cellphone is paid off late 2020, I'm stuck with AT&T. If Amazon wins the rights to NFL games, I'm hearing you'll need the Firestick to get the games. And I'm not very familiar with how that all works.

I saw something that said directv was banking on its nfl Sunday ticket die hards to make up for net losses in another sector.

Basically they know you want to see pro football so they are gonna stick it to you when it comes time for renewals etc.

So I wouldn’t expect them to bend over backwards anymore to retain your services.

I’m not eligible until like October to any renewal stuff due to a promotion I got last year. Should be interesting.

Tbe day they lose the Sunday ticket I’m cancelling. But I believe they have the rights thru like 2025 now or something. It’s the only reason I still have them. 700 plus channels and I probably watch less than 30

I canceled the ticket last week only bc I’m not paying $250/$300 for it. I had it free last year bc I re-upped with DTV.

I’ll go to a local sports bar to watch.

DirecTV Sunday Ticket contract with NFL ends after 2020 or 2021. There was an article about Amazon and Roger Goodell around the Super Bowl explaining the future of NFL game coverage and the serious potential of DirecTV losing it to Amazon Streaming. Rumor has it Goodell wants more streaming rights.

I’m seeing something that says 2022

Yep. I live in New Jersey and lost the NYC CBS affiliate off of my Directv on Saturday.

Yeah Hoops I had the year wrong. I was going off memory, but knew it was soon. 2022 is right. So DirecTV is getting stricter with its subscribers. I'm also hearing Goodell may look into several services and not have it exclusive anymore. The wheels are turning for the fans, we just got to wait it out.
