NFL Mock Draft - 9/29/2011
Round 1
1. Miami Dolphins
MIA-1.png
Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford: Chad Henne has shown improvement, but if Miami doesn't start winning, head coach Tony Sparano will be shown the door. The new head coach won't have any allegiance to Henne and will certainly look to improve at quarterback. If selecting No. 1 overall, the decision will be easy regardless of who is leading this franchise. Luck is the real deal.
2. Kansas City Chiefs

Matt Barkley, QB, Southern California: Should the Chiefs drop to this level, head coach Todd Haley and quarterback Matt Cassel could each be shown the door. General manager Scott Pioli may want to look for another Tom Brady in the later rounds. He'd be wise instead to add the pro-ready Barkley.
3. Indianapolis Colts

Landry Jones, QB, Oklahoma: I am not as high on Jones as others, but he possesses the arm and experience to achieve success in a primarily shotgun attack in the NFL. For the Colts, he might be the perfect candidate to pair with Peyton Manning.
4. Seattle Seahawks
SEA-1.png
Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina: With the top quarterbacks off the board, the Seahawks would look at the defensive line, which has been an area of concern for this club for years. Coples possesses the size the Seahawks like at left defensive end, but isn't a star pass rusher in the making. He was a star, however, inside at defensive tackle earlier in his career. A switch back inside to the three-technique would make sense for him, as well as fill an area of concern for the Seahawks.
5. St. Louis Rams
STL-1.png
Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State: The Rams invested heavily in wide receivers prior to the 2011 season in the hope that they develop some chemistry with young star Sam Bradford. If Billy Delaney is once again picking in the top five, however, that plan hasn't worked. As such, it would be tough to pass on the playmaking Blackmon.

I saw one where it had Miami taking Justin Blackmon at #7 and Denver and Seattle taking Barkley and L.Jones at #8 and 9 respectively...I was like hmmmm.

Jones is going to be a huge letdown for whoever is expecting Sam Bradford. It's not even close.

This. I'm from Oklahoma, seen almost all of Bradford's and Jones' games and Jones is not close to Bradford. As a fan of OU and the Dolphins I wouldnt want Jones on the Dolphins. He'd be an ok pick in the 20 range but I wouldnt take him in the top 10. And for the original post, it's not a surprise they have Luck going to Miami. Every mock is going to have Luck going 1 so its just a matter of who they have finishing last.
