Best player: RT Vernon Carey. Weak link: The right guard spot.
The skinny: This is a line in rebuild mode. The drafting of left tackle Jake Long with the first overall pick in this year's draft will help the improvement. He will be a good one. That move allows Carey to go back to the right side. They overpaid for left guard Justin Smiley in free agency, but he will be an upgrade. The other guard spot is open to competition with rookie Shawn Murphy in the battle. Center Samson Satele is a young player to watch in coming years.

Nothing new really at all. Samson Vernon and Jake should shine this year. Smiley probably won't really improve in my opinion but as they said, he's certainly and upgrade. I'd like to see Shawn Murphy play and be reasonable so we really could have the youngest line in the NFL, and a good one at that. Check out the rest of the rankings:

Yeah, I saw this crap a few days ago...He puts us at 29 but puts the Jets at 14? Total BS... Our OL is our strong suit and if taken lightly by opposing teams, should dominate in 08.

He places us at 29, while placing Dallas's OL at number one, but the moron doesnt take into account our head coach, was the reason why he ranked Dallas #1. We have an oline that is middle of the pack at worse.

We also get a bad rap with our OL no matter how good they are because our olines have stunk for the better portion of the 2000's.

There are holes all over this whole list.. No way Detroit has a better line than we do.. No way!!!

29 is little bit low in my opinion.

I saw this a few days ago, and there is no way we rank near the bottom of the NFL. I think the OL is going to be one of our strong points this year, and should allow the R&R express to have huge years. The improved OL should givewhoever is QB more time to throw which should make for huge improvements on our Offense. whoever wrote the article must not pay close attention because the only bright spot on last year's dolphins was the improved play of the OL!
