Day 3 pick. It's not uncommon for lesser known guys to build their stock off of prodays. Once you look at his film there is a lot to like. Sometimes these guys will slip through the cracks

Hey, if we can manage to land a Reshad Jones type talent to play at FS, I'd be stoked. Wouldn't expect him to be starting any time soon though

Jones was actually hyped as a first round pick going into his junior year (Ironically I believe Scott Wright mocked him to us in round 1 for his first draft that year) but Jones struggled as a junior when they changed his role due to injuries (sound familiar?) then he just had a so-so combine. Thompson more or less was a guy that wasn't well known playing on a rebuilding Gophers team (that had a good season this year), and has taken advantage of every opportunity to get teams talking.

Watching those videos he does have a little Jones/Delmas in him. Needs a bit better positioning at times where he recovers due to athleticism but that won't work in the NFL
