Fun interveiw with 3 all time great Fins.

Man it seems like a lifetime ago. Oh yeah it was.

What's the use it doing something great that NO ONE else has done if you can not brag about it ?

At least every forty years or so :idk:

I think it's great they honor the old timers and Shula. Good memories of a time when WE dominated football.
No. 1 offense and no. 1 defense plus a 17 - 0 record coached by the winningest coach of ALL TIME.

Quite an accomplishment.

I emailed Mercury Morris a while back congratulating him about still being the only team in "Perfectville" and he was nice enough to email me back. It still means a lot to these guys.

These guys were my favorites.

Mercury Morris was lightning in a bottle. Cool he responded to you.

Still can't believe it's been 40 years. Went to my first Dolphin game in 1972 when the Dolphins beat the Patriots 52-0.

I was 7 years old in the back of my parents car jumping up in down on the back seat listening to the superbowl on the radio. Funny, I wouldn't think of anybody in my car not being strapped now.

Those were amazing times. I mean it was very, very rare during the early 70's that the Dolphins lost or didn't have a chance to win. From 1971-1974 the Dolphins went 55-10-1 with three super bowl appearances, two titles and an undefeated season. I always thought that team was loaded with smart football players, beginning with Bob Griese. I bet he would have loved to throw the ball 50 times a game, but he understood the value of wearing out opponents physically with a running attach featuring Larry Csonka. Dick Anderson was as smart as they come in the secondary. Great, great times that I am glad I got to see first hand.

i was a teenager and thought the winning would just go on and on ... alas came the WFL. The Dolphin were still good after Warfield , Czonka and Kiick left but never got back to being the best.

I was 12 years old and super lucky to go to every home game that year. I'll never forget Griese going down in the 5th game with a broken leg. Seemed like everyone in the stadium thought the season was over.

{ I really hope we wear a patch 1 game this season to show love to 72 like we did in 2002 vs the bears }

What a game that was. Smoked them Bears on national TV. A patch would be a silent reminder that perfection is possible.
i like it.

Man, I wish I was alive to see the 1972 Miami Dolphins...8 years before I was born. Not only were the Dolphins better back then, but the music in those days was a hell of a lot better than it is now!

It's kind of a catch 22. While it's great to remember the good old days it is also a reminder of our recent ineptness and 40 years of futility trying to get back to the promised land.
Time to make some new memories.

Agreed! The Miami Dolphins are due for greatness again.
