Celizic: Big Fish To Anchor the Line

too bad he had to bring up the name Mandarich

Long couldn't be farther from that bust if he tried

Can you imagine Jake posing shirtless for an SI cover, using steroids or working out at "muscle beach"

he is a football player if nothing else

good article and good read and i also totally agree with this article, and i REALLY hope Jake lives up to his billing and becomes a mauling beast on the left side of our O-Line for the next decade or so.

yeah I was watching the Big 10 Network and they were talking to guys who knew Mandarich. they said no way Jake would bust that bad since Mandarich was more interested in building his physique than playing football while Jake would due whatever it took to help the team (pointing out he lost a lot of weight to try and play in Michigan's new zone blocking scheme). Also mentioned the only way Jake busts is if he gets injured saying that a guy with his passion for football, and his skills, would not bust unless an outside force hurt him

Manadarich was a slug!! Watching BIG Ten football Manadarich and Long are like night and day. Tony was all hype and yes he was a good college football player but was also psycho. He partied with Guns and Roses and braged about lifting until he puked and than lifting again. His technique wasn't all that great and he just over powered people. Now we know why.

Jake is a very smart football player that love football and not the fame. Atleast not yet. His career at Michigan was steller but they had a lot of injuries to key players on offense but still had decent years. Two penalty's in his career speaks volumes. The Big House is rockin than the Shoe in Ohio State and only 2 in a career.
