I have the iPhone 3G (AT&T) and I never get service when I am at Dolphin Stadium. It's so frustrating when I want to check the score of another game or my fantasy team's points. Does anyone else with the iPhone have this similar experience?

Yeah same thing here. For me, the signal comes and goes. It works great for a couple minutes, then it's gone for like an hour.

what is a GoPhone?
Its a $15 phone that you buy phonecards to use it. My normal phone broke, and instead of spending $100 on a real phone, I bought a gophone for $15 and switched the simcard. So now it works the same as the real phone

Used to work for Wireless Company

Cell coverage for Nextel and AT&T is limited in that area. Now add 60,000 fans during a game, and you have approximately 15-20,000 (divide number by the bigger carriers) people sharing the same towers at one time.

Verizon and Sprint use CDMA technology which does a much better job with capacity than Nextel and AT&T.

Nextel tried to boost their capacity for the Super Bowl without much success.

For 8 games a year, it doesn't pay the other two carriers to put more towers in an area that doesn't have a ton of businesses.

finatical

I have AT&T and it works just fine. That's why a stadium in a more populated area is better

When I went there in 2003 when the Dolphins played the Ravens they had the Verizon guy testing the phone. "Can you hear me now? Good" haha.

The Blackberry Storm is going to blow the Iphone out of the water

 I was there too. Wasn't that the field goal fest we won in OT?

Btw, my AT&T phone works just fine there.
