If we don't sign Tretter and decide to draft a Center with one of our limited picks this year, who do you think might be available? I would suggest a close look at Dohnavan West, Center at Arizona State in round 4. He is 6'4" 300lbs. has experience, good size and mobility. Any thoughts on him or others who might be there in rounds 3 or later?

Pure Centers

Cam Jurgens - Nebraska
Gaining buzz due to his athleticism. I believe he is an Inexperienced converted defensive player who had some earlier snap issues but has been a 3 year starter.

Dawson Deaton- Texas Tech
Tall and skinny for a center will take time to develop.

Converted Centers

Zach Tom - Wake Forest
Very athletic Tackle that played some C at the Senior Bowl. Might be too smooth to move inside and isn’t very strong.

Dylan Parham - Memphis
Played some C at the Senior Bowl.

Cole Strange - Chattanooga

Guard who again played Center at the Senior Bowl. Believe he is already 24 years old.

Is Lindstrom any good? I haven’t followed BC much.

Lindstrom is very, very good and a perfect fit for us. He probably doesn’t make it out of the 2nd or early 3rd. Watching him and Zion Johnson and how good their technique is has me very excited about our new o-line coach.

With only a 3, 4, 5, and 2 7’s it’s almost impossible to trade up unless we use one of next year’s picks, and that’s never my favorite thing to do. You never know, maybe he gets to 102. There are always some gems that squirt through the 3rd round for one reason or another.

I hope one of those picks is on a LB who can run. We probably need another DL-man too. I have sort of turned my draft interest way down. Not off though because it’s a great way to learn the league over time.

I think we have a center all lined up to sign we just need to move around some cap numbers and then he'll sign. I'm hoping it's Tretter, it's something Grier said about Deiter getting interest from others teams and saying we like how we can still develop him at C but also bring in competition.

In order I like these 3 guys for our scheme and value at pick #102

1) Luke Fortner Kentucky- can do it all on the OL. But main position would be G

2) Cam Jurgens Nebraska- gained the most hype and points during combine process. Best pure zone blocking center after linderbaum according to the draft experts.

3) Alec Lindstrom Boston College- familiar with our new OL coach and played in a similar scheme. Nothing sexy, just a very good technician with a football bloodline.
