Back a few months ago before I started to get swept up in the winds of change that promised big things around the Dolphins camp I said what I wanted to see this season was for the Dolphins to establish a franchise QB, a guy who we can have faith in in scoring in the last minute of a game,A positive face of the franchise. I said I really didn't care what our record was as long as the team played hard and showed heart and signs of greatness. I'm hoping what we saw from Henne will satisfy.
I know alot of people feel there are reasons to sit Henne and some may be valid. From what I saw yesterday Henne needs to be playing, who thinks him driving down the field messed with his confidence? I'll argue his "cofidence" will be worse off having to sit on the bench sitting behind guys who can't get a positive thing done on the field. The kid apears to have all the tools to play and I don't see why Pennington gives us a better chance to win. Seriously when was the last time we saw a Dolphin QB throw with the velocity and accuracy Henne did yesterday? We haven't since Marino. Henne needs game time to develop and not a clipboard.
The list of succesful rookie players at all positions gets longer every year and here we sit waiting and making excusess for guys like Brown and Ginn to "develop".
The only think I saw that stood out that he should of been all over Browns a*s for running the wrong route. Of course that could of been Henne's mistake, too, however. But if it was Browns fault Henne needs to take a page out of Dan's book and let Brown know the mistake was costly (of course the fans here will ignore that little fact as well).
