Realistically thinking: Chad Johnson is not a problem off the field, in the locker room in the media nor does he have a Jessica Simpson. Besides his TD dances he is not a problem on the field. Until late he has never express concern about playing for the Bengals. He never has thrown his QB under the bus or called him gay (T.O) so the Bengals are not going to trade him.
Keyshawn is a great WR, he works well with Parcells, he drafted on the Jets, Parcells left so did Key came to the Cowboys and so did Key. Parcells didn't drive him out like some said. Hes been productive where ever he has gone has had over 800 yds every year besides one (which is more than our current WR core) and he is a great # 2. Booker is not coming back, we think, and Key is a much better WR than Booker is, so bring him back Parcells!!!!
Wow, where to begin?
Chad Johnson is indeed a distraction on and off the field.
CHAD, T.J. "OUT OF CONTROL"
A league source tells us that there is growing animosity in the Bengals locker room toward receivers Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
Per the source, both are yelling "all the time" at quarterback Carson Palmer, but coach Marvin Lewis doesn't say or do anything about it. Players are also upset that the two receivers are trying to "run the team."
The situation reminds us of the latter days of the Denny Green era in Minnesota, where receivers Cris Carter and Randy Moss were berating quarterback Daunte Culpepper and operating under a separate set of rules.
Then there is the fact that he was questioned in a murder investigation. Does that make him a bad person? No, but it makes you wonder about the company that he keeps. Then there was the case of fraud where he put up a brand new vehicle for raffle and after people spent alot of money for a prize they "thought" they were getting, Ocho decided that he was going to give it to his girlfriend instead. Now, if any regular person did that they would be looking at some pretty hefty fines and possible jail time.
And you can't overlook the fact that for the last few weeks he has taken every single opportunity to badmouth his current team and cause distractions for them by begging every team in the NFL to trade for him. That's not what a professional does, a professional goes behind closed doors with his coach and GM and requests a trade, and if they say "no" he deals with it. Instead Ocho Cinco has taken every opportunity to whine and act like a spoiled baby for every camera that is pointed in his direction.
Everyone here was so sure that he wanted to come "home", everyone was so sure that he was sincere only to see him begging to go to Carolina, Oakland, Philly, NE, etc. Is that the type of player you want here? He's whining and complaining about respect and how the Bengals organizaation treated him unfairly.....how? How did they treat him unfairly, he never got around to explaining that part did he? They make him the focus of their offense, they let him do his stupid dances, they let him run his yap all over the media without fines and without suspensions and they pay him millions of dollars to do it! How are they treating him unfairly?
Ocho is indeed a distraction and he doesn't belong anywhere near the Dolphins. If he's willing to act like a dope with the Bengals, what makes you think he won't do that here as well? As a rebuilding team with alot of young players, we need to take character into consideration. Do we want our young players to look up to vets that are hard workers or players that are unabashed attention whores?
And I have a sneaking suspicion that all of this public bellyaching is his way of getting a contract extension.
As far as Meshawn, he isn't going to come in and be a #1 receiver, he is a year removed from the game and wasn't exactly lighting it up in his final year. The guy is 35 and will not take a backseat to our younger WR's, and as a rebuilding team we need to do everything that we can to develop the young guys, not let them rot on the bench so Meshawn or any other over the hill vet can earn one last payday. And like Crunchtime said, I think the Meshawn talk is all about helping him earn a new contract with his current employer, not with Miami.
So all of this talk about Ocho and Meshawn is wasted energy IMO.
