Thoughts? I don't want him here personally.

No chance in hell the FO even brings up his name in a team meeting.

I am not sure I see the Dolphins signing him. Maybe they bring him in for a workout, but ultimately I don't see him being a Dolphin, at least not prior to training camp. Perhaps if there are some injuries or the WR corps looks really bad they could bring him in. However I think right now they are going to try and get their 5 or 6 receivers from the 12 guys they have on the roster right now.

Ochocinco is a diva receiver but really he is not a Marshall, Moss, Owens, Burress type distraction player. He would need to be managed and would probably be OK with a quarterback like Moore or Garrard throwing to him. The more curious situation would be if ends up having the rookie Tannehill throwing him passes. Tannehill is going to struggle early(if he starts the season), as do most rookie quarterbacks and a personality like Ochocinco might not be the best for the team. Less dangerous than a Marshall type player, but still could be dangerous.

I see some say that Miami wouldn't be interested at all since they just shipped Marshall out of town, but I am not sure I really see that connection. Marshall is one more off the field incident from probably being suspended for half a season or more. He has almost been murdered twice during his time in the NFL. Plus he absolutely destroys a quarterback mentally and was definitely not a fit for a team trying to build around a 1st round pick rookie. Ochocinco is more like Channing Crowder than Marshall.

If Ochocinco wasn't so old and coming off a very unproductive season I could see them signing him. Does he have anything left in the tank?

One thing I do know, Ochocinco would LOVE to be signed by the Dolphins. Check out this quote from last March 2011:

Ochocinco said:
"Speaking of the Dolphins, like, I can say this. The Dolphins have always been my team since I've grown up. Anytime I play Madden, I play with the Dolphins. I mean, everything, the Heat, the Marlins, you know, the Panthers. I've been a Florida guy all my life. I love Cincinnati, it's been good to me, I would like to win, I want things to turn around. I'm not in control of the situation, as you can see, my quarterback [Carson Palmer] is fed up. But we'll see what happens."

I actually think signing Ocho would be a smart move. I think he is a diva but not a destructive one. I always found his antics were more out of fun than because of anything else. He will have a chip on his shoulder to prove something, he is a good receiver who could help some of the younger guys, and you can't tell me he wouldnt love to play New England twice a year. Besides he wouldn't cost much....worst that happens is he is a distraction, which I doubt, and Miami cuts their losses and moves on. Best case, he proves to everyone that the New England year was an anomaly and helps mentor some of the younger guys on the Fins. Either way, Miami comes out unscathed. Low risk, high reward IMO.

My opinion of OchoCinco has nothing to do with his "diva" persona, but lack of skill he still has. If he couldn't do it with Brady throwing to him, how do we expect him to do it here?

Hope so! People that do not want him are blinded. Youre going to sit here and honestly say that Lego Naanee is a better option than Ocho-Stinko!

I totally and completely understand where you are coming from, but he's certainly an upgrade over Naanee, even considering how bad he performed in Ratland

Between the last 2 seasons, we have at least 6 low drafted or UFA receivers who've looked promising in college. I'd much prefer to give these guys reps with the chance to distinguish themselves and maybe based on the law of averages having at least 1 turn into a Colston, Victor Cruz or back in 01 WhoseYourMama for Cinci than use up space for a guy who couldn't be productive with Brady throwing to him and Welker running resistance.

Honest answer is I would love to see him in MIA. I say that with caution though. According to my boy - he still got "it" BUT he has his head in other places then football. Chad is no longer HUNGRY and that lead to his poor play in NE. Twitter, Reebok, TV shows all lead to his down fall. Living here in RI, I would see Chad ALL THE TIME and that is not a good sign. Putting him in Miami could be a HUGE problem. He COULD be even more distracted and not give football his all.

BUT Chad is also a PRIDE guy and he has something to prove. I think he turns things around and show that he still got what it takes to be a great reciever. HUGE risk but it comes with a very small price tag. He would play for the min. If he works out....GREAT. If he doesnt.....Oh well.

The title is misleading. Ochocinco didn't state Miami as a possible landing spot...NFL.com did. They like stories and if they can't find one, like any other outlet nowadays, they will fabricate one. Chad Ochocinco is washed up, he's never been a disciplined route runner, he likes to freelance every now and then like Marshall and that's one of the many reasons he had no success under Brady. You could see early on that Chad was running the wrong routes when Brady threw his way and eventually Brady stopped looking for him cause he didn't trust him. That's not the type of route runner/receiver you need in the WCO.

There is no danger in bringing him in for camp. Like previously stated, low price tag and if it does not work out cut ties and move on. I don't see a huge risk here.
