Chad Pennnington's Health

His health is my key concern with him, but because this team is probably not going anywhere this season, and we're not asking Chad to come in and save this franchise and be a franchise QB for the next 5-10 years i think it's worth the risk to bring him in. It's probable he'll help this team exceed expectations and that's a good thing, and if he ends up hurt again then you didn't really take a big gamble getting him.

That's pretty much my thoughts exactly. I really don't think the team will go any farther this year with McCown at the helm than Beck or even Henne. I do however believe that Pennington would add a couple/few wins this season that the other QB's would not. So my point is if we sign Pennington and he stays healthy then we win a few extra games, and if we sign him and he gets hurt then we are basically in the same situation we are in now anyway.

OK I will admit....Pennington would be perfect for our offence, he manages the game very well and does not make a lot of bone headed mistakes like Josh McCown has in the past with his other teams.

But Pennington gets hurt eating breakfast....I dont think he can make it through a whole season

The OL is still a work in progress with pass protection being a bigger issue.

Our QBs will be knocked around a lot this year. Will Pennington survive? Will any QB survive? :d-day:

Chad Pennington's Health, is the reason why he sucks. He is one of those what could have been guys. Injuries have plagued his career.

That's what everyone was saying two weeks ago but it looks like they have decided on the starting five with Thomas winning the open OG spot.

I think they will still trade for another OT or pick up a free agent but I think the work in progress thing is over and these guys just need a little while to gel.
