Enter at your own risk...
After last weeks loss, I started the a thread titled "Challenge to my fellow Fin Fans: Keep your eye on the prize". It started some good discussion, so I figured Id make it into a weekly series where I can give my thoughts on the game and more importantly the developement of our young players/organization as a whole. Anyways heres the link to last weeks thread...

And here is this weeks...
My rant about the game:
Wow what a game. We havent dominated a game like that since the we shut out the Pats (21-0) back in week 14, 2006. Man we were long long over due. So its party time fellow Dolphin fans!! Pat yourself on the back, grab a beer, hit up a strip club, take a sick day, call your friend (the Patriots fan) and rub it in his face, party naked and dont dare feel bad about it (or with your cloths on if you perfer), cuz we deserved that one Dolphin nation, We deserved that one!!
Ill start with the bad:
1) Chad Pennington's arm strength (kinda)- Its funny we lose a game and 100 threads pop up about this, and how he needs to be benched. But, come on people, we knew this when we signed him. Its gunna be a problem all year long, and we just need to execpt it whether we win or lose, it is what it is.
2) Kick/Punt Return game- Devon Bess looks like he is a great ball handler. He is gunna catch every thing kicked his way and would be suprised if he fumbles all season (knock on wood). But his speed and cutting abilities are average at best. Ginn would obviously be a better option, but I like him focusing exclusively on improving as a WR.
3) Kick/Punt coverage- This was my biggest concern on Sunday. The Pats averaged almost 40 yards per kickoff return, and 17 yards on punt returns. Itll be interesting to see if we can improve on this following the bye week.
Defensive Player who needs to step it up: Vonnie Holliday- I saw him consistanly getting pushed back on.
Offensive Player who needs to step it up: N/A- I saw an improvement from every player on the offensive unit. But if there is someone I missed let me know.
And the good:
1) Coaching/Exicution- After all the mistakes last week with penalties, bad play calling, bad play execution ect, many threads where calling for coaching changes even though it had only been two weeks. Needless to say those threads have disappeared.
2) Offensive Line- This group looks like they figured it out!! Jake Long looked like he was worth the 1st overall pick, Smile had his best game, and Vernon Carey continued to play very well (can we please resign this guy!!They completely dominated the Patriots D-Line. By the end of the game the Pats looked tired and our online continued to push them back!! Very good sign for us Fin Fans.
3) D-Line/D-Backs- The Dolphins completely dominated the Line of scrimmage, taking alot of pressure off of our DBs. While pressuring the QB was the key on sunday, our DBs where keeping everything in front of them, and didnt give up the big play. This will be key all season long.
4) Wide Recievers- They still didnt get see them stretch the field, but we finally got these guys involved in the offense. Ginn had 5 catches, Camarillo 4, and Bess/Wilford each came up with a catch a piece.
Offensive Player (and Co. player) of the game:
Dan Henning- I think his poor play calling last week can be blamed on his miss management of personel. But I think he learned alot about his guys after last week. The Ronnie Brown at QB formation was genius!! He had the Pats on their heels the entire game!!
Ronnie Brown- Dont count this guy out just yet!! 4 rushing TDs, and 1 passing, need I say more?? I think I wanna add that he burst back onto the scene against the team that ended his season last year. Karma was on Ronnie's side.
Defensive Player of the game: Kendal Langford- This guy could prove to be our best draft pick of '08. His stats werent anything impressive, but he caused a disruption on every play, which required the Patriots attention. This freed up the linebackers to get busy. Joey Porter should buy Langford a steak dinner or something.
Keep your Eye on the Prize: Challenge of the Week:
I think it is safe to say we are a better team than we were last season. I was watching ESPN, and they were talking about how many bad teams there are in the NFL this season. They started naming the teams, and didnt mention the Dolphins!! I know its sad, but that put a smile face.
But lets keep things in persepective; remember this is only one week. Its fine to get excited/optimistic for the future. But we are a young team, with a young coaching staff. So, we will also have bad games where we make bad mistakes. So, when we win dont automatically call us superbowl contenders, your only gunna dissapoint yourself. And when we lose, dont call for unrational change such as firing coaches, or cutting players, give this regime some time to succeed. Remember we are still rebuilding, and keep your eye on the prize!!!
