Now I saw the replay a few times and I wonder why didn't Philbin challenge this catch? I understand the officiating was horrible throughout the game and maybe he feared they would not change the call but come on the reply clearly showed Rishard with possession and both feet in. So why didn't he challenge?

If this was posted sorry I didn't see it.

Really,I agree I also thought there should have been a challenge in last weeks game also that was suspect.

Damn straight, OP. Damn straight. I was yelling at my TV. I don't get Philbin. I said he was a milquetoast cipher weeks ago.

To be fair, I was at Gillette and they didn't replay the catch once at the stadium. It was impossible for us to tell if he caught of or not

Well I saw it clearly in the first replay. Either way don't we have someone in the booth looking at replays?

I think the guy in the booth sees the same replays we see on TV and I never saw a replay that clearly showed it was a catch.

Well from what I saw he stayed in bounce and seemed like he had full control. But maybe we see different things.

Completely agree. I actually thought it was a no-brainer and totally lost my s*** when I didn't see the red flag; just the punting unit.

Just watched it again and while I agree it was probably a good catch, it would be impossible to overturn it from the replays they showed, you never see his right foot hit in bounds. Bottom line is the refs ****ed us again.

We shouldve challenged that...he was in bounds and had possession. Some coaches....

At that vital point in the game, when things are starting to go against your team, you challenge a questionable call like that. You don't sit back and wait for someone in your booth upstairs to tell you it is a 100% clear win on the challange. As the head coach, you make a decision. You can't stroll around the sideline with the challenge flag in your hand, indicating that you, on the sideline, thought it was a bad call, then just let your team punt because you weren't confident enough in what your eyes told you. Philbin has a hard time making decisions related to the actual gameplay. He can't decide if we are a shotgun, 4-wide passing team or a running, short passing team. He can't decide which RB fits his scheme better after almost two years with the same personnel. Etc., etc. He has never been under pressure in his career to make these type of decisions, and it shows.

Two weeks in a row (Wallace reception last week) and the Matthews reception this week...it doesn't make sense....they go for it on 4th down (shows some balls), but he doesn't challenge plays he should (lack of balls)...I'm starting to get the feeling that maybe he is not cut out for the NFL...

Gillette Stadium is a special place. It seems like everything that can be done to aide a Patriots win is done.

That pisses me off. I've been a sunlife plenty of times when they showed replays for the opposing team.
