Ok, this may seem random but in the old days (2002-2004). Chambers would seem to have a great game and end with only 75 yards. Now the steelers game it seemed like Chambers didnt do much but he still ended with 59 yards. To me that is what seperates the great receivers from average ones. Chambers didn't have a good game but still ended with respectables stats for the first game of the season.

Take what I say however you want but CC has changed and I can tell. He isnt a player that is inconsistent anymore, he really is a legit threat.

how is he not inconsistant bro? he should have had +2 catches, +yds, and +1td.... he let a td bounce off his facemask...

chambers is rly good after he makes the catch, and he does make some spectacular catches, but the fact remains, he drops a lot of easy ones...

even in pittsburgh this fact reared its ugly head! its just how CC is! thats why he's not randy moss or TO

CC looked just as lost as Daunte at times on thursday. You could see it in his eyes, he was intimidated. That is why he dropped that ball. With CC, its mental. When he is hot, he is on, when not so hot, he is not so hot. How profound huh?

I have confidence that CC will be just fine, it just sucks when you could have won a game like this because he dropped a pass right in his mits (again) for a TD. Game would have finished alot different, aside from our poor DB play.

saban won't put up with our #1 reciever dropping easy balls for long. u saw last year how he publically embarrassed him? and then chambers stepped up for 2 games and put up insane numbers over 2 games.

but ive been saying for 3 yeras i think chambers is much better suited for a #2 reciever...

i agree with that chambers had a bad game but his stats werent bad at all, when my friends would try to bag on chambers for last week saying what did he have like 2 yards it was actually pretty funny to see how surprised they were when i replied with no he actually had 59 and he still had a bad game....this are going to get much better for chambers and daunte, i have no doubts

I think the real proble for CC was that he went up against one of the top corners in the league and was made to look average.

The top tier of receivers do it week in week out regardless of who they are up against - this is why I rate CC just below the top group. On his day he can be brilliant, but against the top corners in the league can look average.

first game of the season wow, players can look a little rusty the first game, chambers didnt really get much action preseason

teenwolf good point, that ike corner they have is underrated and very good, did u see the way he was built? lol

Rusty?

He had a TD bounce off his grill on opening night against the defending Super Bowl champions on their home field during a perfectly placed by Daunte.

He choked.

To be an elite #1, you make the play with no excuses. No whining, complaining and excuses.

He beat one of the better young corners in the league and set himself up to make a statement (for himself and the team).... DOINK!

He choked. Plain and simple.

And please don't refer to this in coming weeks as an enigma as we play one of the easiest schedules over that course of time.

He choked.

yep, best game of his career came when we were down 23-3, with no pressure at all

I watched the fourth quarter of that game and the Donko game over and over during the offseason...

I don't think it is accurate to Chambers had a 'BAD' game.

He certainly didn't have a 'Great' game, 'good' game is debatable, but "Bad"? I can't see it.

He didn't catch the ball in the endzone, and likely could/should have; however it wasn't an 'easy' one. It was inside, low and hit plastic ( shoulderpad or grill).

Do his deractors countthe times he was WIDE OPEN and the ball was UGLY and picked. On the 1st pick CC was a few yards in front and had to twist back to try and defend an underthrown ball. ON the second one (which the pick was out of bounds) Chambers was so open he could have pulled out the sharpie before the catch and signed it on arrival; but, it was thrown no-where near him.

Great,Good,Bad? He moved the chains at key times, got open, and caught the ball when they decided to use him.

5 catches for 59 yds, 1 dropped ball, two big plas nullified by bad throws? Does that consitute a Bad game? INwhat league? In the NFL that was a good game with one throw away from great.

yes 1 dropped ball, especially a touchdown in ur face (how was it low)? that makes a bad game for a #1 reciever. if he does that every game he'll have 16 dropped balls for the season... thats very bad for ur #1

Chambers didn't do all that bad. He had 59 yards. On the first int he was breaking away down the field and may have had major yardage and a TD. He was also wide open once in the endzone and Culpepper just totally missed the toss, and the throw that bounced off his face mask was a bullet in his face as soon as he turned around. Not everything was his fault in this game, and he was playing against a shut down corner.

note that a "dropped ball" in the nfl is only something ur reciever should definitely catch, if its not an easy play to make, it wont count as a dropped ball. however the one chambers missed last thursday was definitely a drop.
