Chambers was drafted in a great year for wideouts with guys like Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, and Santana Moss. In 5 years Chambers has 39 tds, reaching 11 twice and only having less than 7 once in his 2nd year when he had 3. He has about 1000 more career yards than both Steve Smith and Santana Moss, and his career td total nearly doubles that of Moss and Smith. He has Chad Johnson beat in career TDs by 5. (39-34)
Chambers played in crappy offensive systems for 5 years with about 4 different worthless quarterbacks.(Jay Fiedler, AJ Feeley, Ray Lucas, Brain Griese) Those other three guys enjoyed consistent quarterback play and well formulated offenses that gave them the ball. (Chad Pennington, Jake Dellhome, Jon Kitna, Carson Palmer, Mark Brunell of this year)
Notice anything wrong here? Chris Chambers gets about half as much respect as these guys while putting up comparable if not BETTER numbers in offenses that absolutely sucked. Chambers is better than Santana Moss and Steve Smith PERIOD. He's twice the red zone threat that those guys are and he has the same ability to get open deep, Steve Smith is only better in his ability to run in the open field and Chambers is no slouch in that area either.
I'd say Chad Johnson is a better wideout at this point but who knows what Chambers wouldv'e done in that offense. I guess what I'm trying to say is Chambers is a true #1 reciever that deserves alot more respect than he gets. If this moron front office can get us a quarterback he's going to tear the league up for years to come.

i agree...look at what chambers already did we a good qb. he has a td. i mean common...if we had manning he would be a probowler into his 40's!!!

Roy Williams could have just crushed Chambers. He definitely layed up. That shows a lot of respect. Good to see.

chambers is awesome and just imagine if he had played with marino in his prime...he also plays on a team that runs more than passes...the only negative on chambers is sometimes he drops the easy ones...

Yeah, we have had so much turnover at the O-coordinator position since Chambers arrived it amazing he has done what he has with average QB's. If this guy was playing with a top QB his #'s would be sick. Still has a few drops but hopefully he learned alot from the vets at the pro bowl and comes back even better and more polished next year. Looking forward to 2006 no doubt!

Very good post man!! :beerbang:

Chambers has never even had an average Qb to throw him the ball, so hopefully we will get him a good QB so he can really shine.

chambers said that he is happy that the offense isn't changing next year...

Good post. Chambers is the man. I just cant wait to see how good he will be when we bring in a better QB. Maybe get another WR to take some of the pressure off of him. Cant wait to see him in the years to come

Good to see hes getting some love now a days... earlier in the season he was being hated on left and right..

I believe Chambers is getting a lot more respect than he has ever gotten. Sometimes I think that he doesn't get the respect he deserves because he doesnt have a star QB throwing to him. What I mean by this is that the media does't show his great catches because the QB is say Frerotte.

During the pro bowl they did make a comment about how Chambers has had many different offenses he has had to learn in his five years in miami. They said his quietly done a nice job while have to deal with the new offenses.

finally some love for this guy lots of people love to bash this guy...i'm not one this guy is the biggest game breaker we have and would flourish in a consistent offense with a decent supporting cast...that 2nd catch was nasty....and yes he got poped by roy but that is what roy does best and no biggie he just popped right back up...
