Chambers Next topic on First Take

Ehhh... it was just a recap of Cameron's move of Chambers to the X spot and if chambers fails to preform in 2007 he will be playing for a new team in '08.

Yeah, if Chambers doesn't put up Pro-bowl type numbers (not saying he will make the ProBowl) then I think the coaches will look to move him next year. We have alot of youth on offense at WR and Chambers will have to perform to stay on the PHINS.

Chambers will be very good this year if he catches the football.

Whether or not Chambers will be good this season? Not even Chambers knows. The guy is inconsistently good and bad.

It's like a roller coaster ride, it can be good, but in the end you may end up vomiting.

Chambers has a lot of talent he need the get to know the QB before he can be as good as he was in 05

You gotta give Chambers atleast 2 years in Cam's system, I'd say, and if his stats and drops aren't improved then we can look to move on w/o him. I'm sorry I just don't see where all this "youth and potential at WR" is coming from. Yes, we did get Ted Ginn but Booker is over 30, Hagan is a 2nd year guy still needing to prove he can handle NFL defenders, Kelly Campbell is a veteran who gets injured every year, Hakim's best days are behind him, PK Sam has looked the part in Europe but hasn't had the chance to prove anything in the NFL yet. As for the rookies other than Ginn, Michael Malone most likely will not make the team, same goes for Kerry Reed, and the only surprise of the bunch may be David Sutton but he's still a longshot.

I just remember last preseason when the team thought it was so loaded at WR that it might have the luxury of trading one of the WR's who fail to make the team. Now let's see: Cliff Russell, Marcus Vick, Frank Murphy, Jason Wilis, Fred Gibson, all very good in preseason but ultimately overrated and no one came close to trading for any of them, to my knowledge atleast. As far as I know Fred Gibson (our best prospect IMO) has signed back with Atlanta and Cliff Russell has signed with Detroit. So much for our loaded WR corps of youth and potential last season.

I honestly don't think he can be a probowler unless all of the top tier receivers are injured and he gets to go as an alternate...

BUT, he doesn't have to make the probowl to have a good year. He just needs to concentrate on every play, and not lollygag out on the football field like he usually does.

When the game is on the line there is no excuse to drop passes. Big time players make... you know how the saying goes.

He will never be considered a clutch player until he learns to focus on the field, and until he learns to really think before he speaks when he talks to the media.

Give Chambers ANOTHER 2 years? Oh boy. :rolleyes2

HE has to get used to the system
he has never had the same offence since he started playing for the dolphins and he has only had one real bad year (06) I think he will catch on to the offence during the middle of the season and have great numbers again

It has a lot more to do with his QB than we know. He has not been blessed with consistency at the QB position for any length of time. In one of his interviews, he talked about the issues and time required of being able to "gel" with his quarterback. The coaching "experts" suggest it takes as much as three years for a WR to be in sync with their QB. They have to learn each others' habits and tendencies. Just like Peyton and Harrison, a good QB/WR pair takes time to develop. But they have to find and work with each other first.

I am not defending him, but I believe we may see a very different Chambers this year if we get consistency from Trent Green.
