With Leslie Frazier and other head coach candidates chomping at the bit, the Bills hired Chan Gailey...WTF? I guess that is why they have sucked for a long time and will continue to suck. The GM (Buddy Nix) has already had to say he doesn't care if no one likes his choice and basicall told the fans & press to screw off. Nice job Bozo, enjoy your very short tenure in the NFL. Found this on Pro Football Talk when reading about Nolan, sorry no link as I'm on my CrackBerry. I thought Frazier was a shoe-in and that we would have formidable competition for years to come but instead, we will have to thank Mr. Nix for the additional two bye weeks a year. I really feel sorry for the Bills fans, this has to suck really bad.

Gailey has a proven track record of success at the NFL level.

He has been somewhat successful just like he was at GT. He doesn't stink but is certainly not an improvement, in my opinion, over Jauron. If you are shooting for 5-11 to 8-8 then Gailey is your man. It just seems ridiculous to me that Brian Shottenheimer, Leslie Frazier, Keith Butler and even Mike Nolan were available and they chose Chan Gailey. I have no idea if any of these people would actually choose to work in Buffalo but don't think it would be a bad job as the ownership is fairly good, they have a great fan base, and they have some decent young talent as well as a good history/heritage. I just don't get it.:jcane:

Leslie Frazier was there for the taking and they pick a guy that was fired in the Pre-Season from the KC Chiefs????

Was on a Bills board and they ain't happy. It's being reported Marty Schottemier was wanting the job bad, but Ralph Wilson says he wasn't comfortable with choosing him.

they picked chan over marty? you fugging kidding me? that's bad - and also hilarious.

Marty S. comes with a frightening ego. You can't make a living in an industry when you have a reputation of going heads up with the owner and GM.

They chose a guy that needed and wanted an HC job, and that DOES have a track record of success at the NFL level. Like it or not the man is a mirical worker on O.

As far as him getting let go by the Chiefs, that's more of a Chiefs problem than a Gailey problem I think. It was THEM that made the trade for Alleman and ND after all.
