I dont understand Wayne's philosophy in hiring a new head coach. If your team has been bad you need to hire a new head coach some one with different ideas and philosophys, someone who will change the identity of our team. We have not been to the playoffs in like 6 years we need to bring in someone new with a winning past.

We should NOT keep all of the coordinators we have now and just promote a figure head head coach. It will be like keeping everything the same except the main person that answers to the media.

I just feel awful because If we dont promote a good head coach, in about 4 or 5 more years we will be in the same situation and will look back on how big of a mistake it was.

If my choices were Mora, Gailey, or Shula i think i would save the time and shoot myself in the head.
Mora-I dont like him just from what i have heard seen and etc.
Gailey- is kind of old and wont bring anything new to our team
Shula- Although I think he is a good coach, you do not mix family and business, because you know that if he stinks it up in the nfl we will treat him differently because of his dad.

Personally I wanted to see either a young, energized, and motivated Brian Schott. or Tomlin.
IS WAYNE A HIPPOCRITE HE COMES OUT SAYING THAT TOMLN really impressed him then we dont give him a second interview...wierd.

Also i know wayne wants to be thourgho in our search for a head coach but while we are being inactive good coaches are being signed. ex. Wiesenhut to the Cardinals... I wish I was a Steelers fan they know what they are doing when they hire head coaches and thier final three is Grimm, TOMLIN, and I forget the last guy but he was better than our choices.

Your thoughts...

my thoughts are I am going to wait to see who he hires before talking about it as it is just a waste of time otherwise.

Change the identity of the team? Under Saban the team had no identity.

Sometimes I wonder why so many reacts so harshly when their favorite is not chosen.
Shottenheimer removed himself from consideration and Tomlin is very inexperienced, even as a defensive coordinator.

I just want them to make a decision. Truth be told, we don't really know who will succeed and who won't. Most fans were gung-ho when the Fins hired JJ and Saban and look how great that turned out.

Lets face it the big names coaches that we hired stunk. Why not go after a nobody. Heck I'll even take Dave Shula. At least I know he will do his hardest to make the franchise proud again.

I dont think its so much a coach's philosophy that affects the way a team plays as it is his ability to come up with a way to exploit the other teams weakness every week.

In essence it doesnt matter if a coach believes in defense or offense as long as he can put together a gameplan that will get the job done.

You are an idiot if you would be glad with David Shula. They need a Head Coach with an offensive mind set. Mora will bolt when the Washington job opens up, Gailey is a college coach and Mike Shula is nothing but the son of a legend. We should be screaming mad that this is the best they have come up with
