Should the NFL change the way OT is played? Personally, i think they should play until someone wins the game, no ties. Each team should have a chance to win the game-no sudden death, it should be 15 minute qtrs until one team doesn't score. If you don't score on your posession & your down, game over.

What do you guys think?

if they want to make it that not every team is guarenteed a possesion like it is now, they should make at that at least the team must score a td to win, or cannot kick a fg unless there inside the 20 yd line. when people say that the defense should just stop the other team, that may be true, but its not easy to stop the other team when all there doing playing to get to like the 35 yd line to try a gw fg. thats why they should make a rule that you have to score a td at least so that u can make the real argument how the other team shouldve stopped them.

Yes, change the rules. I would love too see the NCAA format adopted into the NFL. Each team should have a chance to win.

Yes, great poll!

Play complete condensed 8 minute quarters until someone wins. After a hard fought game, sudden death strikes me as patently unfair and IMO, was one of the factors in getting us off on the wrong foot against Washington in our ignominious 1-15 season. In this scenario, the 2pt conversion will end up being the test of how low the HC's cajones hang.

The NCAA format sucks because it isn't the real game. There are no kickoffs or punts. The only change I would consider making to the NFL format is to guarantee each team a possession. Ties would still be possible. If you saw the Philly-Cinci game, it deserved to be tied. If you go through 15 minutes where you just need a field goal to win and nobody can do it, then it should be a tie. It's not like it happens so often that it is a problem. This was the first one in six years.

How about no FG's in OT? It stops the short drive and FG to win without the other team getting a shot and the difficulty of scoring would hopefully encourage more coaches to go for the win at the end of regulation rather than the xp to tie.

Each team must get at least one possession of the ball each.

My thoughts exactly. I love the OT format in College Football. Makes it fair.

Fair but stupid. Imagine if baseball extra innings the rules were that each inning already started with one out, or a man on base, or something that is not like the normal game. It's stupid. Play the game as it normally happens.

Just change it so each team gets the ball atleast once.
