I just wanted to point out a bright side of recent weeks to some of the success this team has had...obviously the success hasn't panned out just yet, but something of importance has caught my eye in Channing Crowder really showing up the last few weeks. Yesterday he has a key tip pass that goes into the hands of Vontae Davis. He stopped Chris Johnson on virtually every play up the middle and was great on coverage to the tight end or to the rb...last week he played great being all over the run game and helping out in stopping MJD in Jacksonville. I know it's hard to feel good about this team right now, but I really think Channing being a part of this defense is such an important factor. Stat wise it doesn't show up but I've seen a much improved Channing since he came back from his injury in week 10 against Tampa.

Absolutely agree!

He's always been pretty stout against the run. No real game changing plays for a loss, but solid in the middle. It's the passing game where he struggles. Always has.

Passing game can always be improved not just with Channing but with the entire defense, but that's for another discussion. I think personally Channing has improved in the passing game of late. That's just my opinion of course :)

He had 1 tackle versus Jacksonville ...How does that
translate to playing great?????

He has had 1 good game this season,,,Tampa

Why do you think our safeties lead the team in tackles
103 and 89 to Crowders 52(maybe because Crowder is slow, out of position and everyone runs past him)

Find me a team where the safeties are #1 and #2 on there team in tackles ...good luck with this one

We tend to remember the good things like Crowders 1st interception in 5 years or the 1 sack he got this season for a total of 2.5 sacks in 5 years

We forget he averages 4 tackles a game and has 10 missed tackles to lead the team...Dont get me started regarding his lack of coverage skills, and his incredible foot speed

I don't care how long you want to polish this turd but when all is said Crowder is still a turd

i like the way channing is a leader. he cares about the team, and will defend us everytime he gets a chance. he has been playing better since he got back, and he is the quarterback on defense.

that being said, we better be playing more than these next 2 games, bc this season cnt end like this. i cnt endure no fins football for 8 months.

crowder has stepped it up recently after a tough first half of the season. he's getting good pressure when blitzing and has had some nice breakups in coverage. and he's always been stingy against the run. i was hoping he'd have a huge season after signing that nice contract - but he's been a little disappointing. it's pretty clear he needs some help in the middle - hopefully in the form of spikes or mcclain.

Channing had a solid game yesterday.

He has put together a solid stretch post injury.

Wilson lead the team in tackles and he played like crap. Tackles don't mean everything.

People can hate on channing all they want.. There are other positions that need to be addressed or fixed asap...theres no guarantee next season that we get anywhere...we need to address the wr spot...the qb spot...and the TE spot..like right now...

Hopefully Pennington has fully recovered.

Why? This is his 3rd shoulder injury, and he already had a weak arm as it is. I won't be surprised if his passes are swooped up by an eagle now or something after hanging in the air for so long.

Well atleast you mancrush for P White is gone, but why the hell does the QB spot need to be addressed? elaborate please

As I mentioned stats don't mean anything when it comes down to it. It's about performing at a high level. So if Jason Taylor didn't have a sack yesterday, does that mean he had a crappy game? Joey Porter didn't have one, so did he have one too? I just don't see how the only way you're justifying his playing ability is just by stats only. He's a vocal leader on this team. The play caller on defense and plays with great intensity. This is not a turd that needs to be polished. It's a player that needs to get credit where he deserves.

You can't really cite the Jacksonville game to discredit Channing Crowder. Besides that one pass play for a large gain, Jacksonville's offense had essentially shut down and were barely on the field. You can't have too many defensive opportunities when you're not even playing.
