the lions are going after some of his bonus money, so what that says is he is gone next year, so what is the chance saban takes a look at him? he coached him at michagan state right? he has talent but seems to be a turd, maybe saban can turn him around
 
We have enough turd recievers.
 
Possibly....I would mind it if he isn't going after big money. Which he won't get anyway, so yeah it could happen. I know he made some big plays for Saban while at MSU one in particular against ND in 2001 with no time left in the back of the endzone..one of the best catches I 've seen.
 
Ya I could definitely see this as a possiblity. It gets rid of the need for drafting a WR. It's really not a high risk signing.
 
It's a possibility, but a possibility that I really don't like....the guy is injury-prone and now has off the field problems...we don't need to move backwards.
 
It's not a huge gamble really...
 
Depends on how much money you'd have to give him but yes a definite positive addition to this WR corp IMO. He would bring a physicalness to the WR corp and I know everyone thinks just the opposite because of his collar bone breaks but in college the guy was an EXTREMELY physical receiver. To this day I still feel comfortable saying that coming out of college he was truly a better WR than Andre Johnson.
 
The word per ESPN had Rogers losing playing to Mike WIlliams before the injury.

IMo it's more mental then physical.
 
We need a reciever who will play 16 games of the season..

Rogers will be good for 3-4 ..
 
Well as for losing playing time to Williams, you know how it goes with Matt Millen as soon as your "toughness" starts to be questioned a little bit.

I'm not saying Charles is a #1 WR waiting to happen, I'm just saying that he's still decent and could add something to just about any WR corp. And if we don't get him you know New England will, lol.

He's a poor man's Chris Chambers. Why go after him when we have the real thing?
 
Yeah but we're talking about a roll of the dice here kind of guy. Charles "Nelson" Rogers would be a roll of the dice and could turn up pretty decent. Or he could suck. It's like that dude from Chicago went to New England and got cut before the year was done.
