Its leaking all over the internet now. Its all over the news here in Louisville. I'm sure U of L will let him coach in the bowl game if he so chooses. He's a good coach and recruiter. I can't wait to be excited about U of L football once again!

heard he's bringing the WR coach over to be the OC. So looks like Louisville is going to the spread option. Long overdue assistant getting a HC job
 
terrible, terrible news for the gators. he's a hell of a coach - cardinal fans will be extremely pleased.
 
Well this blows! lol but its should be good competition for the big east since we are probably going to lose Kelly and/or Edsall
 
His press conference was impressive. Now let's see if his coaching is.

I visited a few Kentucky Wildcat fan sites and what is surprising, other than the fact that UK fans know how to use computers, is that a decent amount of them pretty much think the hire was horrible and that he will fail. Of course that is UK and their fans really only know about basketball. And the Music City Bowl. Every year. Until the end of days.
 
Charlie has wanted a head-coaching gig for a while and IMO, he deserves one. I've been expecting him to jump at an offer for a couple years now and I'm glad he went somewhere like Louisville that's outside of the state of Florida and the SEC.
 
Billy Gonzales will not be following Coach Strong, by the way.

Charlie is a classy, classy guy and he'll do a great job at UL. I'm very happy for him. Charlie disclosed that he will not be trying to sway the #1 guys UF was going after as well.

“There are some guys they’re recruiting that I know they’re not going to take that I’m going to call. Anyone committed (to UF) or who they really want, I’m not going to attempt to recruit them.”

He's so freakin classy it's amazing. While Kiffen MADE his bro-in-law steal anyone he could from USCe last year on the move over. It's just one of the many differences in these two head coaches.
 
Coach Strong has been on the job for 24 hours and already has his first commit.

About 24 hours after being introduced as the Cardinals' coach, Strong met with and picked up a verbal commitment from DeMarcus Smith, Seneca High School's highly regarded junior quarterback...

Strong said Wednesday that one of his major goals is to land the top Louisville-area talent. Smith said the coach told him that “I was one of the players he was talking about, and there are a few more.”


It's likely that Strong also will make a huge pitch for Central senior linebacker Tim Patterson and Ballard junior wide receiver DeVante Parker.

If Strong can land Patterson, that would be awesome. Almost every major school in this half of the country wants that kid.
 
boy it would of been nice to have Coach Strong at USF right about now!!! lol
 
i'm impressed with the staff Strong has put together. Bunch of very good teachers and recruiters. Plus they've done a nice job recruiting so late in the process
