According to NFLTradeRumors.com it looks like Chase Allen has reverted to Miami's IR after clearing waivers. Glad to see him get another chance next season. Injuries have certainly hurt his potential.
Your right. And they may have found those upgrades in Hanks and Watson, both seem like they have a chance to make the 53. Allen always had potential but never was healthy. I think they could eventually release him off IR once he's healthy. Perhaps even keep him for next off season to see what he can bring?I thought originally he might have had some potential, but then he ends up up on IR both years. I honestly think that we may have/or can find upgrades from the Mike Hull and Chase Allen type guys ... at least from a defensive standpoint, as opposed to just ST, if they had to step in and play.
I had hope for Chase Allen. He clearly has the size and athleticism to be just what this type of defense needs. With the new system, I was hoping he could come in with a clean slate and maybe get some quality development snaps this year as we rebuild. Sorry he is injured, glad he cleared waivers, and happy to have him back in Miami even if it is on IR.
But I can't help but think this is a missed opportunity for a young guy like him.
Slow of thought? As for footspeed, he's actually quite fast.To be honest he seems a little too slow for what they want at LB. If Kiko and Raekwon are too slow, then you know he is too.
