I think Edmonds is a really underrated player. He has done well with the opportunities given to him the past 2 seasons. He’s kind of a bigger, more athletic version of Gaskin. I wouldn’t expect him to be “elite”, but he’s more than capable of being a starter if he stays healthy. Think pairing him with a back like Spiller in the draft would be a great combo.

A great addition to what I think will be a group of backs in this scheme! I’m Not expecting a workhorse back from this Coach!

Not to sold on him. Think he more like a 3rd down back than anything. Very good pass catcher. But will I run him 14 to 18 times a game. Absolutely not

….and one the most efficient running backs in the NFL…great move!

My only concern is his injuries last season. He was able to play 12 games but incur injuries. Granted, we have a multi back system but if he can stay healthy then we have someone that can turn that corner. As a reminder, Arizona used him primarily as a catching Runningback last season. This may have an effect in his injuries but then again that is the type of back I personally want. Is he an upgrade over Gaskin? IMO we have a very similar play with a bit more explosiveness.

It looks like he was coached up very well around the nuances of catching shorter balls out of the backfield. There's a slight nuance with some slot receivers, receiving backs, and tight ends who are mindful enough to immediately get upfield once the ball gets to them. It sounds really simple but so many players don't do this. I think Julian Edleman is a great example of this, if he catches a 7 hard hook with a defender on each side he's smart enough to take what he can get and fall/backpedal upfield right when the ball gets in his hands. Those little moments turn into sustained drives. I'm really excited to have a player like this.

His issue is durability which is a big one for a RB.

But he looks to be a perfect fit for what McDaniel wants to do in the running game and I don't expect the Fins to pile touches on him anyway. He will share carries with Gaskin and possibly Duke Johnson and/or a rookie RB.

Every guy that San Francisco used except for Jeff Wilson over the last 5 years has profiled like a third down back.

Albert Wilson is a great example of this. If he catches a 7 yard hook he runs backwards and turns it into a 5 yard gain.

Wasn’t sold on Breida or Mostert until he was in McDaniels offense and look what they did
Trust the process, at least proven otherwise
