Scout Team
I know I will probably get a lot of heat for this post but after watching the game today a few things came to mind. One of the biggest problems I feel is the play of Chad Pennington. A lot of teams have a simple plan on how to defend the dolphins. Stop the run and make the Dolphins beat you with the pass.
Numerous times I watched Pennington get all kinds of time to throw and all he could do was throw a 10 yard pass. And if that wasn't bad enough when the fins needed a first down he would throw before the first down marker.
What depresses me even more is we will probably not see Henne until the season is totally out of reach. I say put Henne in next week even if its just to create a spark.
If you look at Pennington's numbers at the end of each game you will say they look okay. However if you watch every game he is only completing short completions and not moving the ball down field. I also think this is hurting Ted Ginn because from what I have read in other posts - most of the time Ginn is open down field.
Until we get a quarterback that can throw the ball down field our running game will never get going. Teams will continue to shut down our running game. I think the wildcat covered up a lot of the weaknesses we have but teams have caught up with that now on defense.
Any how this is just my interpretation on what I saw today. I know a lot of other people might feel different and thats fine too. However I just don't know why other players on teams can produce , but when it comes to Miami - our players need years to develop!
