well..this video doesn't really prove that he's not a bust.. not saying he is one....

the only thing i can think of when i watch this is "why, oh why isn't he returning kicks ? "



... but take my word, when henne hits the field we'll feel the true value of that player

OK - I'll play. It's not that he is a bust - people are bitter about him being picked at all given the glaring NEEDS of this team and the players who were available at that pick.

So - the Ginn 2007 highlight reel is 11 total plays worth showing - two of which were called back due to penalties. That's all we got for the #9 pick?!?!?! Do you see why folks are not happy with it yet? If we had picked Willis (the guy I wanted) - the highlight reel would have been 5-6 key plays per game - not for the entire season. That's called value for your money - and we have not received that with Ginn - yet.

It may not prove that he isn't a bust, but that isn't really the point. It's too early to tell whether he is a bust or not. One thing is for sure, he played alright at times last year and this year he has sucked. What does everybody want to attribute that to? Oh, let me guess....increased time at WR has made him WORSE than before? That has to be it. Hell, just compare his stats for the 2 years. Last year he had 34 rec for 420 yards for an average of 12.4 ypc. His longest was also 54 yards.

This year.....16 receptions for 129 for an average of ONLY 8.1 YPC! Longest reception is only 18 yards.

I would like to see if our current QB can get him the ball for that 54 yard catch he had last year.....

I think YET is the key word here.....

How many receivers do you know of that have a rookie year LOADED with highlights?
 
Hey thats the video i made. Ginn isnt a great reciver at least not yet but hes a deep threat and one of the best returners in the game and the guy that compares to him is Desean Jackson. Have you guys seen the bombs mcnabb launches to him for 60 yards but until we have Henne at qb we'll have to wait.
 
it's funny watching this video out of the context of the season makes it look like Ginn single handedly took us to the SB last year. :lol:
 
To Cleo's credit, he could throw deep, although very inaccurately. alot of those plays seemed deep, or 20+ yards, which Chad rarely ever throws... I do wish however Tony would let him return kicks for A WHOLE GAME. Those clips showed what we "could" have at WR and if he performed like that consistently, he would be worthy of the #9 overall and to be noted as a true #1

Yes, very inaccurately is correct. I know of at least 2-3 balls that Cleo threw to Ginn that were 30+ yards, but he over/underthrew them. If Cleo could have had a little more accuracy on that deep ball, I have NO DOUBT Ginn would have had over 600 yards last year. And that's without starting a full season.

And we probably could have won another game.....

I even think it was more than that.. and that was only to Ginn.. There were plenty more to other deep recievers Miss Cleo over/under threw
 
Yo that Kickoff Return against the Bills was SICK, he BLEW past the whole special teams . . . he ate up every last angle like it was nothing.

Anybody have Sparano's email?
 
I think Ginn should be returning kicks. That's really what he is best at. I mean the bears wouldn't take Hester off of KR/PR duty to become a WR. And both Hester and Ginn are great returners and average at best at WR. But, both the Bears and Dolphins need help at WR and have no choice but to use him where they can. But if Hester or Ginn was on Dallas, he would only be returning kicks.

But, boy, watching Cleo Lemon under center makes me cringe.
 
It isn't like Davone Bess is lighting it up in returning kicks. He's had plenty of opportunities to do so in the first 5 games. Ginn HAS to be put back on returns.
 
Here is the biggest thing about this year. We are not seeing Teddy returning any kicks!!! I'm still not sure why we arn't seeing that yet?? I dont think that Bess has gotten one back to the 40 yet?!?! Personally I think he used his returning ability get get into the game, to get him amped up.

I am still trying to figure out why he isn't returning kicks? Complete wasting of talent right now IMO.
