say this reminds me of the incident with todd wade , does anyone remember when todd wade went on tv doing a car comercial and when tim saw him on tve he fell out of his recliner and almost sprianed his neck. and he chatsized todd for saying that he was the dolphins no 2 pick and holding up a car for sale sign . tim told wade that he wasnt suspose to do that kind of thing why i will never know. anyhow warren sapp and ruddy were buddys of corse todd wanted to stand up to sapp but ruddy intervened. wasnt tim ruddy the one who was always making some good quotes ? we could have used him last year .

Hahaha, wow! I guess he's officially called it quits.

He shaved his head too? :rofl3:

Picture of him a few years ago for comparison:

Good for him. It isn't healthy to be that heavy and it is very hard for players of that size to shed the weight. Here is to him having some money for his family, and a long healthy life in which to spend it.

Very good post. I agree completely. And quite the contrast to former Dolphin LB Steve Towle, who was reportedly 300 pounds recently when involved in a road rage incident in the midwest. Ruddy is a Notre Dame grad and undeniably smart.

But this demonstrates our problem with Ruddy, and longterm with the OL in general. In the late '80s the NFL evolved to much bigger and more athletic linemen and LBs. We have been horrific in keeping pace, other than drafting Webb and Sims in '90 and a couple of other examples. Far too many of our offensive linemen have been small framed and/or lacking in ideal athletic ability. That is still the case today.
