Chiefs Finalize Coaching Staff with Parmalee, Smith and Thomas

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Monday that the club has finalized Head Coach Todd Haley’s coaching staff. The following three assistant coaches have joined the Chiefs staff:
Bernie Parmalee (Tight Ends): Parmalee spent the past five seasons at Notre Dame, working as the tight ends/assistant special teams coach (2005-06) and tight ends coach (2007-09). He has three years of NFL coaching experience with Miami (2002-04), where he coached tight ends in 2004. A nine-year NFL playing veteran, Parmalee appeared in 134 regular season games (26 starts) with Miami (’92-98) and the N.Y. Jets (’99-00). He rushed 567 times for 2,179 yards with 17 TDs and caught 168 passes for 1,485 yards with three TDs. He also saw action in seven playoff games (four starts). The Jersey City, New Jersey native finished his collegiate career as the all-time leading rusher in Ball State history with 3,483 rushing yards and 26 TDs.
