Chiefs | L. Johnson on trading block?
Sun, 22 Apr 2007 12:54:43 -0700

Adam Teicher, of the Kansas City Star, reports the Kansas City Chiefs have offered RB Larry Johnson to teams in order to acquire more draft picks.

man that's like SD shopping LT.

The thing is that he isn't very young since he wasted years on the bench and there is a good chance that he'll never be the same again after carrying the ball over 400 times last year. Herm Edwards was trying to kill him.

I would assume that they'd get an offer of Buffalo's and Green Bay's pick at the very least, if not Cleveland's downright #3 overall offer.

Hes worth every penny he gets...Hes a stud and should get payed...The amount of picks has to be ALOT...If this is even close to true.

To be honest it's a little bit silly if you think about it. Your hoping that Adrian Peterson can put up the numbers he has already given.

There's a large number of teams who would make the deal to get him.

Denver and Kansas City had the 2 best O-Lines over the past few years, meaning that all of their running backs were going to be fenomenal, thats why Denver traded Clinton Portis and then Reuben Droughns and then Tatum Bell, its not that they are the best RBs around the league, they are not like LaDanian or Shaun Alexander, but now that KC's O-Line has been downgrading due to some retirements, they want to trade Larry now that he is a "GREAT" player, before he loses some trade value...

i agree with the purpose of wantign to get the most value out of him, however, it could be argued that s. alexander isn't as good as he seems because he lacked an oline last year and look how he ran.

If I was Green Bay, I would be all over that...which sucks for us 'cause that is one less team out there who would trade up to us (assuming AP, for some godforesaken reason, fell to us).

Larry Johnson has been unhappy with his contract. The Chiefs signed him to a seven-year rookie deal, and while he stunk the first couple of years, he has been grossly underpaid the last two. The Kansas City Star says that they've been talked about a new contract but there is no deal yet, and given that there are now rumblings of a trade, they may be sick of dealing with him.

Yes, I agree, Shaun is not at LT's level, but I didn't remember another elite RB while posting (like Tiki Barber and Ricky Williams a few years ago)..., but thats not the point, what I meant was that Denver's and KC's RB's are not the best around the league eventhough their stats show different.

It's silly, LJ took the team and carried it on his back tha last 2 seasons, and they wouldn't pay him what he deserves..... Quit LJ.... Retire, do something with your life.....jejjejeje

He is only two years older than the guy many want us to draft at Qb from BYU. He was on bench for two years and is also only two years older than Ronnie Brown.
