Chiefs sign Bowe to 5 year deal, franchise Albert.

Apparently Bowe really wanted to go back to Kansas, he probably has business/settled in that area with his family and didn't want to leave it. Oh well, I'm not a big fan of his drops.

I'm not a big fan of Wallace either and reading the posts in steelersfever's forum has me worried we're going to overpay for a one dimensional player. Let's just say those fans are happy as hell that Wallace is gone.

Big time!

That along with the steeler fans saying he regularly disappeared or just had too many drops in the 4th quarter.. That sounds a lot like BMarsh when he was here. Mental breakdowns and such.

With Bowe signing we definitely have to pull that trigger and pay Wallace. His speed peels the caps off of defenses and we haven't been able to stretch the field in years. Wallace, Bess, and another young WR and TE in the draft would do us plenty justice. We might end up going OT early with Jake on the market though.

you gonna pay him 14 M?

we ALL knew that he was one diminutional before we started talking about getting him, his own previous coach called him a "one trick pony" his speed is TOO appealing, why else would we consider drafting Tavon Austin? because he has a big body over the middle? no, its because he can blow the top off the defense or take a screen 80 yards, apparently we are resigning Hartline(????????) to go over the middle

Dwayne Bowe signed to 5 year deal in KC

I figured this would have already been posted but I’m not seeing it. Mods, please merge if I missed it...

The Kansas City Chiefs have made Dwayne Bowe the third-highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL behind Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson, while retaining a top-tier target for quarterback Alex Smith, recently acquired in a pending trade.
Bowe's five-year deal, signed on Monday just before the deadline to place the franchise tag on players, is worth a total of $56 million with $26 million guaranteed, according to a person who has reviewed the details of the contract.

This leaves only 2 top tier WR targets for us to pursue in the off season. :(

Damn, think of what Wallace and Jennings is going to want now...

I hadn't even considered the impact to the other guys' salary demands. Damn, They're gonna want to get PAID no doubt.

This is a shame because I think I decided that Bowe was the guy I wanted us to get the most. He's the most versatile IMO.

"not really" what exactly?...
i was answering dlockz when he asked "was anyone surprised". I said not really, but im just concerned about the salary cap... it will be locked up quick with all the holes that need to be filled still

I really hate giving a receiver 12 million but we kind of need to do it

We are going to have to make the guaranteed money big. Like 30-35 million guaranteed to get Wallace here. Jennings should come cheaper than Bowe in my opinion.

At least they have a smart GM to not let him slip away... it gives them a chance anyway.
