According to Adam Schefter, the Chiefs waived former starting LB Ramik Wilson to make room for LB Sam Barrington, who was claimed early Sunday.

Wilson, 24, was a 2015 fourth round selection for the Chiefs out of Georgia.

Wilson played in 11 games his rookie season, starting two, racking up 13 solo tackles, seven assisted tackles, and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Wilson’s release came as a surprise as he was expected to see a decent amount of snaps at inside linebacker next to Derrick Johnson to open the season

I know the front office doesn't think we need ILB help this guy is good. I wanted us to draft him last year but,

I'd take this guy over Hewiitt, Hull, Jenkins, or Paysinger.

Hate to say it but with Kiko looking light in the a$$ and Misi being just another guy, our linebackers suck.

Wilson and PJ Dawson. I say add them both release Hull and go with Alonso, Misi, Jenkins, Paysinger, Hewitt, Wilson and Dawson as your linebackers. Releasing Hull and one of the running backs would make enough roster space to add both.

Our linebackers scare the crap out of me. Not one of them is a play maker. I would add any and all to our team and hope to find a good one.

Another area that is confusing. I'm a novice, I see the need for OL and LB, especially when available, not to mention CB. Know its still early and have to let this staffs judgement play out some but truthfully blows my mind that we would keep some of what we've seen and pass on available upgrades, especially the ones who are young and will not put us in the same situation to fill that spot next year because they finished a good career. Hull last game was like a high school player in fact much of what was out there we tackling like little girls. The staff at some point will be held responsible.....again..
Hope I'm wrong but been seeing this crap for the last 20 years.... Probably will be looking for another first rd OL in the next draft,,,,,,,,,again....Not just T-bombs fault, Gase will have to go along for that ride too.

I don't know much about this guy but he definitely sounds intriguing. We need more talent on the D desperately.

This guys lost...another athlete without instincts

Pray kiko stays healthy fellas and that he maintains the athleticism and range he showed in preseason week 3... If so there wont ever be any issue with the mikes play

that was plenty good enough

He was flying to the football and all around it

" Flying to the football and all around " isn't enough. Ya have to be able to be effective and stop the guy hopefully as soon as you grab him. Been surprised this pre-season at all the missed tackles and like you said a lot of flying around but without putting them on the ground....Truthfully don't think we have the talent (LB) but will get into the season to make a judgement. But if I see it and they do screw up that will tell me lots about the insight of Gase and his gang............
