According to Adam Schefter, the Chiefs waived former starting LB Ramik Wilson to make room for LB Sam Barrington, who was claimed early Sunday.
Wilson, 24, was a 2015 fourth round selection for the Chiefs out of Georgia.
Wilson played in 11 games his rookie season, starting two, racking up 13 solo tackles, seven assisted tackles, and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.
Wilson’s release came as a surprise as he was expected to see a decent amount of snaps at inside linebacker next to Derrick Johnson to open the season
