Children here?

Just a question to anyone who would be able to provide an answer...

Have there been complaints from parents who have had children view/read objectionable material on these forums? I only ask because I recently saw an entire thread moved because of the use of some innuendo in two posts (this thread was otherwise a pretty average conversation). On the other hand, I've seen threads in which the first post consists of incoherent babble that were allowed to stay in the main forum.

From my perspective, this doesn't seem like the type of site that someone of an impressionable age would visit very often. I would imagine roster moves, coaching staffs, and salary caps aren't that appealing to kids.

I definitely understand the need to keep things civil and relatively clean, as I have seen the forums that let anything go. I also understand the want for FH to be looked upon positively by the internet community. There just seems to be a bit of inconsistency...

Any inconsitancy usually has to do with the workload of the mods. They can't catch everything, which is why we rely on the "report" system. If you see something that is against the TOS, please report it. Reported posts/threads will be dealt with quickly.

We have plenty of contributing members, not to mention lurkers, who are under 18. I began using the forum precursors, newsgroups, at 16 (hey, I'm not that old, only 29). While many are teenagers and maybe able to handle some of the content in our eyes, it's not our position to make decisions that should be left to parents.

Whether kids come here or not, I don't think there's any content on this site that would offend anyone. The cuss filter (though I hate it) works and if someone calls someone else out here, the thread gets moved and the user banned.
