Manning's trip not a negotiation; does not reflect Broncos as 1st choice, per sources. It's Manning research. Other trips planned. #NFL32
According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, Manning is en route to Denver to meet with the Broncos later tonight. Also on Manning’s itinerary are visits with the Cardinals and Dolphins. According to the report, Manning would like to make his decision by Tuesday, the same day that free agency begins.
The Dolphins are considered the favorite by most sports betting services, but the Cardinals and Broncos certainly make compelling cases. The Cardinals have great weather, a domed stadium and one of the best receivers in the NFL in Larry Fitzgerald. The Broncos have a great young defense led by budding star Von Miller and a promising young receiver in Demaryius Thomas. Of course, the Broncos must consider the backlash, if any, of signing Manning and benching Tim Tebow, who led the Broncos to the playoffs last year after taking over a 1-4 team.
The Dolphins still seem to make the most sense for Manning. They have the league’s sixth-stingiest defense, a Pro Bowl receiver (Brandon Marshall) and 1,000-yard running back (Reggie Bush), an elite left tackle (Jake Long), great weather, an owner who is willing to pay him and they’re close to Manning’s offseason home in South Beach.
