‘chip On Your Shoulder’

I find it ironic how we passed on Haskins, who has made it no secret he now has a chip on his shoulder, for a guy with an even bigger chip.

Does this equate to wins or losses, is the question?

Probably most low round picks come in with a chip on their shoulder. How many make the team? Yes, I like to see a chip, but all that means is they try harder. And, yes, there are those who are very talented but were overlooked. All I'm saying is the 'chip,' to me, means very little.
