In spite of what some may think in hate and homer-ism, Ross has a simple and very difficult decision.

He can keep what he has, and hope they take the next step forward. Most Phans don't want to see that, and doubt a player or two will bring us to the "Promised Land" under the current coaches.

He can pretty much start over with a new GM and HC. This will quiet Phans but, if it's not a Cower or Gruden, they will not really care and will not buy tickets. Even with either, that is not likely to happen.

Very TUFF call for the billionaire owner.

he should wait for the 3 year plan for his QB. No workie, All gone.

That sounds a little snarky....whats good for the goose is good...well..you get it.

Hi folks,
I think Ross is torn between this 'stability' thing as a way of winning and appeasing the fans and cleaning house after that embarrasing meltdown.

Stability is great when you have a good to great coach (see Tomlin for example, up/down years) but I don't think Ross has one in this case.

I think Ross will really have a hard time firing Philbin......I don't think he'll do it...which is fine with me.

However, I think Ireland is a different matter. I think firing Ireland will help him accomplish appeasing the fan base as well as holding the hierarchy accountable for the teams shortcomings.

Ross is a business man and will make a business decision, not an emotional one.

I agree. He can maintain the illusion of stability while getting rid of Ireland...and no one will miss Ireland. It will buy Shermin and Coyle another year. I think Philbin will be here for at least 3 years.
As for the new GM, he won't be a high profile guy, just another young guy that Philbin can control.
