Choose: Cleo Lemon or Matt Cassel?

Remember when the Pats unveiled Matt in the preseason? All the talk then was that he looked pretty good coming out of USC as an unknown backup to Palmer and Leinart and the Pats found a gem. The talk also was that the Dolphins were working on getting an FA contract for him if he went undrafted. Then...BAM! The Pats take him in the final round.

So my question is this: If all things were equal and you didn't have to give up anything extra for either player, who do you take to join the Dolphins as a possible QB of the future...Cassel or Lemon?

I guess in answering, you have to include which guy you think would run our offense better and not so much which player has the most ability overall. Does anyone know if they're considered similar type players? I'm interested to hear comments from people who look at Lemon as that kind of system player that Linehan is looking for.

Actually, that's two pretty honest answers. There's very little to judge either of them on and there's always the homer factor in answering a hypothetical question with the guy that the Dolphins ARE in possession of at the time. It just shows that as fans, we're kind of at the mercy of the staff to know what strings to pull. Unfortunately, we're all a bit gunshy after the last two we had here.
 
cassell in a second. That guy's the real deal. He's probably already better than anyone we have or have had since Griese (Brian not Bob)
 
This is obvious it's Lemon. Mueller and Saban know a lot more about these guys than any of us. If they wanted Cassell we would have spent a 7th round pick on him, but we didn't. Instead we spend a Sixth for Lemon which means that we wanted him more than Cassell.
 
As far as I know. Randy M has a knack for picking some QB sleepers...

Cassell has 4 attempts, one being an INT and he's the real deal? :confused:

I am really starting to like him alot. Schaub is gonna be a franchise QB.

If you watched him in preseason you would understand. Garbage time picks when youre down and the other team knows youre passing arent going to tell you anything. Cassell also wasnt available for a trade as someone else brought up. He's locked in as the backup to Brady

Lemon played great in preseason as well. I thought the preseason meant nothing if they're going against 3rd and 4th stringers.
