Chris long clips

thanks buddy, very smart guy and great hands.
 
his highlight videos from what i've seen so far resemble that of matt roth's. i dont know where our organization sees roth in our lineup, but i feel that roth and long would be a good combo to build on. roth just needs to get quicker and more moves, which can be taught by our new d staff. Chris Long is our pick we should just trade with atlanta for another 2nd and pick him up at 3.

tahts what scares me cuz roth is a bust. Wasn't roth the one that went into ufc fighting or some sort of training so he can becoem quicker at the feet to pay off on the field? clearly it didnt do jack for him

I think the whole short arms thing hurt him more than people realize. maintaining separation is key for a DE.
 
yea roth has some small arms. maybe having him lose some weight and moving him to olb would work out. we need our young dl prospects to really come into their own
 
NoblePhin, That may be the smartest idea choice for what to do with Roth Ive heard since his rookie season. Koudos.
 
I'm a huge Chris Long fan, but honestly, he's doesn't have the speed to be elite as an OLB, so to me, he's purely a DE. Now, he can and probably will bulk up a bit and be just right for a 3-4 DE. Despite his timed speed, he's neither ultra-quick nor super-fast, and I just cannot see us making him the #1 overall pick. That said, he's going to be an excellent player in this league, and that's what matters to me.

People comparing him to Aaron Kampfman have to remember that Long is stronger and Kapfman is faster.

If we somehow trade down to somewhere between 3 and 7, then I definitely see us grabbing Long (or Gholston), but not at #1 overall. I hope we get him though, because he produces, is dependable, and is the kind of guy you love to root for. with Zach gone and JT being no certainty to return, it would be nice to have someone who makes you feel good about the team.
 
EXCELLENT! I have been saying the same scenario! Cuz I know Atlanta has their eyes on both Mcfadden and Ryan, Ryan cuz the want to close the book on Vick and Mcfadden cuz Dunn looks like he will be the next cut cuz Atlanta had only 5.7 million before their last cuts of Crumpler and company, he is 6'4 280, that is good size for 4-3 or 3-4 style defenses, he like Roth has a motor and could be a strong tandem for the next 10 years!
