Chris Long was on NFL Live earlier

Today, CL was on the show and was asked a few questions about the Dolphins. CL said he has had no contact with us. After the interview, he really impressed the NFL Live guys and I must confess, me also. Merril Hodge said if we don't draft this guy we are stupid.

I am a supporter of Jake Long, but if we can't come to terms with him, we better draft Chris Long instead of Gholston. IMO CL is the real deal and we will be messing up if we pass on him.

I don't know what to think.....We talk to Jake Long & Gholston but no discussions with Chris Long at all???

Part of me had felt that Parcells & Co. were playing a game with the J. Long contract ultimatum and they might really take Chris Long.... but then hearing they haven't spoken to C. Long makes me think maybe it's all true. You would think at this point there would have been some sort of contact between them if he was a consideration at #1

There's only 9 days left to the draft and unless Chris is outright lying, now I don't think he's in the Dolphins plans at all.

We have only negotiated with JakeLong, no negotiations have been made with Gholston. Now, the feeling that if a deal cannot be made with Jake Long, we will begin negotiations with Chris and Gholston....

Yep it's confusing to me too why we haven't talked with Chris but people have been saying Gholston is more the Parcells mold for the position.

I don't think "negotiated" is the right term......supposedly we offered him a Luca Brasi contract that he can sign or not then we move on.....Also, I wasn't saying that we should have been negotiating with Chris Long but that you'd think there would be SOME sort of dialogue between the Fins and C. Long/agent if they were at all interested.

With 8 days left....it appears that the Dolphins aren't blowing smoke....it's J. Long...or trade.

I think it's obvious why...J. long will be gone alot faster than either Gholston or C. Long...which means they both will come alot cheaper wherever they are selected...so why talk with players before if you don't have to. After the first pick...every pick is less money.
