One of the biggest unsolved mysteries from the 2014 season centered around Chris McCain's disappearance after his impressive debut with the Miami Dolphins.McCain, an updrafted linebacker from the University of California, flashed playmaking ability in Miami's 33-20 season opening win over the New England Patriots when he blocked a punt and produced an important sack as a situational pass rusher.
McCain was one of Miami's top performers in training camp, which explains how he made the 53-man roster, and his first game hinted that more was to come.
But it never did. McCain played sparingly in the final 15 games despite Miami's struggles at linebacker last season, and he openly blames his lack on involvement on himself.
"I was really struggling with the playbook coming from the Pac 12, where there are a lot of spread schemes. We were running a 3-4 so I didn't have too much responsibilities, so I thought it was going to be easy like it was in college,"
