Chris Williams waived (broken hand)

Well that is to bad for Chris. Just glad it did not happen later if we used a roster spot for him. I hoped he made our PS but with the broken hand I am afraid it is over.

I feel bad for the kid... not only does he have to endure the embaressment of having the ball hit him square in the face, he breaks his hand on the same play. And then gets cut two days later. I wish the best to the kid- it sucks that it worked out this way.

No wonder why he tried to catch the football with his mask...his hand was broken.:chuckle:

Gotta give the kid credit for trying...but he should have told the coaches about his hand...IF he didn't.

Its been in the other threads regarding the Ndukwe trade...

Hope he makes the best of it and comes back next year with a chip on his shoulder....he deserves a shot

Actually his hand was broken prior to the play he muff'd the punt.

The Dolphins’ waived rookie free-agent WR Chris Williams today because he suffered a broken hand on his first punt return during Saturday’s game with Carolina, according to Williams’ mother, Carol.

Wow! listen to his mom.

The Dolphins placed Williams on the waived/injured list, meaning if no one claims him in the next 24 hours the team will place him on injured reserve, effectively ending his season.

But in these cases, the player normally receives an injury settlement and is waived. Williams’ agent is working out a settlement with the team, Carol Williams said.

“If they cut him because he sucked, it’d be different,” she said. “He liked it there. He still hopes he can contribute.”

no wonder he dropped that ball. An injury like that can make even the best football players lose focus. I'll give the kid the benefit of the doubt. I hope he returns stronger.

While watching the game, it looked as if he hurt his arm or hand on the play. Too bad for him. I can see him getting signed to our practice squad sometime later this year after healed. He is definately someone we can develop.

Funny it doesn't look like C. Williams.:ponder:
baseless accusations aren't tolerated on this board. the man is hurting. of course he doesn't seem like himself.

That is a bad injury...he appears to have broken his color bone too!!! :chuckle:
the quack speaks. is the man's hand not bandaged? case closed.

seriously though. it's a shame cause we've lost both speedy wr youngsters that were brought in, which included what looked like the starting punt/kickoff returner.
