What a difference a year makes. The "Nigerian Nightmare"...I forgot whose nickname this was...but it was good....starts this Sunday against the Lions.

This was a guy that DL coach Brooks said "has to step up his game this training camp".

This was a guy that fellow DL ROB BURNETT came to.. and paid O-GUN a lofty sum to take away his original jersey number....#90.

This was a guy that most people thought of ....well...as an after-thought in the rotation of the DL...before camp began.

This position was all but assured DARYL GARDENER's...the left defensive-line spot as he was going to be moved there from DT...as camp was about to begin.

Then.....the DOlphins sign up ROB BURNETT as veteran insurance.

Then the DOlphins cut GARDENER and trade for JAY WILLIAMS....and now we are told that WILLIAMS is likely to start...and that BURNETT..will now be used in the same manner that former DOlphin De TRACE ARMSTRONG was once used.

Wait a minute now......it looks like DE DAVID BOWENS is looking good in practice.....he now has the edge to be the LDE starter.....

David BOWENS gets injured during practice....he is now out for weeks....

The pre-season games begin....and JAY WILLIAMS gets the opening exhibition start.

Adawale Ogunleye enters the game against the BUCS.

Adawale Ogunleye turns heads with a multiple sack performance....

And the NIGERIAN NIGHTMARE continues to sack opposing Qb's....against the SAINTS, TEXANS, and BEARS.

O-Gun sets a Dolphin pre-season sack record of 8 sacks....

ROB BURNETT has his number.....JAY Williams is in the rotation....

And when DAVID BOWENS returns.....he also will be in the rotation.

And Daryl GARDENER's back is ailing...and SPURRIER isn't counting on him...in Washington. And does anyone really believe that GARDENER would have 8 sacks if he started as our LDE....in the regular season....much less the pre-season?

And the ''NIGERIAN NIGHTMARE" rolls on..... next stop.....MIKE MCMAHON....

The Nigerian Nightmare..........Christian Okoye!!

That was the guy....MUCK

It looks like we need to come up with a new nickname then......OKOYE was the original.

Somoebody will think of something....I am sure.

8 sacks in PRE-SEASON

Big frickin deal

Do it on Sunday's vs starting OTs.

Every team has pre-season supastars that turn into the proverbial pumpkin come "real" gameday...

He had two sacks against the Bears....the first game he STARTED.....

[intro]After finishing the preseason with a team-record eight sacks, head coach Dave Wannstedt named Adewale Ogunleye as the starter for Sunday's home opener against the Detroit Lions.

"He deserves to be the starter, he's been the most consistent, and he's had the best camp," said Wannstedt.[/intro]

Thats for the news page...

Doesn't matter who the hell you play...You have no talen at DL ....You have one overrated DT and the rest are scrubs..You guys think Ahanutu is going to provide a pass rush? Please.....In total you have one overrated Tackle and one mediocre End and the rest are scrubs...

We've always called him "O-Gun". It fits him well. Just look at the first 4 letters of his last name. That and his style of play this preseason really make it fit.

Adawale Ogunleye = O-Gun

The Nigerian Nightmare was and will always be, Christian Okoye. He's a tecmo legend whose name is not to be trifled with.

I've been calling Ogunleye the Nigerian Bad Dream, for good measure.
