First off, I am totally for us moving on with Sims and Cameron. Especially Cameron whoI believe will provide us with a much better all around TE, most importantly in the redzone where Tannehill hasn't had a target like him yet in his first 3 years. I'm just curious to what the Bills plan is with this signing? They're new offensive coordinator is Greg Roman, he had Vernon Davis in his offense, who is an absolute physical freak and a total mismatch. While last year they couldn't draw up any plays to get him the ball while using him the majority of the time to block in the offensive scheme he ran and now they're going to spend 38 million dollars on a T E who is one-dimensional? This is not a knock on Clay because he was a very talented player and will be missed. Im all for a player to go out and get his money when he can so good for him but for the value I believe Clay will provide in that offense will not equal the cap space he will eat up.

I seriously doubt Miami match that offer. The guys Miami are getting rid off are good but just not good enough. Just mediocre ...the linebackers, the receivers and clay all mediocre group. Ditto for the running back name Lamar, Good but not great!

Will we get any picks from losing Clay? Even late rounds?

Charles Clay getting Jimmy Graham money!!! No need to match and I wish him the best except against us. This is exactly what Graham got!!

No, you are not missing anything. He's essentially getting more $$ in the first two years of this deal than any other TE in the league. We get NOTHING if we lose out on this, but that's the risk of doing this type of tag. Keeps the tag money lower, but you risk losing player and getting no compensation for him in the form of a pick. We gambled and lost to the Bills who were willing to WAY over pay him in year 1 & 2 of this deal. We will let him walk and go with what we have and/or sign someone else/draft someone to fill the spot (if they want insurance with Cameron's concussion issue).

No transition tag beings no compensation if you lose the player

Check on Davis's health and get back to me heard his back was issues all year

Clay is not woth that kind of money. He is a nice players that had a few big games, but he can be replaced with the guys already on our team.
Let the Bills go to cap hell.

But Graham only had $13 mil in guaranteed money and Clay is getting $20 mil.

Clay's a promising young player who can be used all over the field; he has a bit of Hernandez in his game. But he's not a guy you give that type of guaranteed money too.

And here we go with this. I still don't get why fans care what is being paid

Are Bills in cap Jail No
Does this stop future moves No

And also have to give that money to make sure you don't match. I mean must not be to far off your FO your FO was gonna give him 15 mil guaranteed

Doesn't matter, admit and call it like it is, it's a very dumb contract. The guy is mediocre. Dolphins made the same mistakes in the past, now the Bills are making it.

It's about as smart as the Mike Wallace contract.

Hate to say it, it was a bad signing for the Fins but the Wallace deal was still smarter that the Bills/Clay deal. At least Wallace had 32 TDs in four years with the Steelers and gave us something to shoot for. Clay has NO dynamics attached to him.
