Clay ruled out-Thomas questionable

nice, we released lousaka polite for a FB who is always injury prone, /facepalm.

was Pat White a late round pick?
what about Patrick Turner?
what about Odrick(I like actually him,but he only played one game last year,so this gives me ammo for the arguement :))
what about Shawn Murphy?
or maybe all the hoopla Ireland and Sparano was giving us about how strong of a punch Donald Thomas has?
or perhaps how John Nalbone was a guy they thought was "pretty athletic" and "does some nice things"?

should I go on,or should I just cease? or what?

EDIT: Hell,we're not even sure what Henne is yet!

what about Merling.....geez,its like spilling out one by one,lol
this is just wrong.... Patrick Turner and Shawn Murphy are 4th round picks, odrick never had an injury problem so how do you blame anyone really?... Get a grip man...

the loss of clay other than as a release outlet for henne to me is not a big one this monday night...other than cut blocking guys flowing inside he's not in any way shown to be a true lead fullback...hell he's not a fullback anyways and we weren't gonna be able to run the ball inside against wilfork anyways...

the loss of daniel thomas now thats a big one to me should he not play...the thought of larry johnsons old slow legs coming to the los with the ball his hands gives me the creeps...no burst no acceleration just meh

Yeah, it's hard to say we're going to miss anything with Clay not being out there because we really haven't seen anything yet. I think we'll be throwing the ball most of the game, anyway. There's no way we're going to be able to handle the middle of their defensive line with the middle of ours. Now, runs on the perimeter? Yes, I think we can have some success there. But you can flex a tight end to block on a perimeter play. No problem. Plus, I like Hilliard as a fullback. He's a bit light in the pants but he generally brings some pop with him.

lex hilliard is no fullback, hes too damn small, he will get ran over every down trying to block a linebacker. As of now we have no full back on this team, we should have never cut lousaka.

Half of the people you named were NOT high picks. High picks to me means Day One, i.e., 1st 2nd and 3rd Round picks.

WHITE and TURNER were such. D THOMAS was NOT; S MURPHY was NOT; NALBONE was NOT. As to ODRICK and MERLING, here's a news flash for you, genius: half of the 3-4 teams in the LEAGUE would give both of their b*lls and their first-born child for EITHER ODRICK or MERLING. In fact, the way ODRICK looked in preseason, they might throw in their wife.

Your post is a**inine.

I'd say we're in pretty good shape. Every team, every week has injuries.

Could be alot worse with key players ... and these injuries don't appear that serious (at the moment). We also have a couple dinged players ... Jake, Clemmons, & ??? (FO secrets)

Reckon we'll find out Monday if Larry has any gas left in the tank. If our O-Line doesn't shape up, it might only barely matter who is at RB.

I honestly have to question what you're looking at if this is your evaluation. Here's the video PhinsRock put together of Hilliard's snaps at fullback last year:

Watch this. Then, if you can, rewatch the fourth preseason game, where Hilliard played a ton fullback, and get back to me. The guy is a bit undersized to play fullback, no doubt. But getting run over by linebackers every down? Pfffft.

The fullback is going to be a de-emphasized position on this team, anyhow, which in my opinion is a good thing. With the way this offense is going to be run, keeping a true fullback around wasn't going to make sense even if Polite was a great one, which last year in my opinion (and many others) he decidedly wasn't.

Hilliard's only five pounds lighter than Polite. 240 isn't small for a FB.

Last season, in limited time, HILLIARD looked very good as a FB. That continued THIS preseason. He is a very good "lead blocker", which is "Job One" for FBs in the 21st Century NFL. HILLIARD also blocks well in pass-protection, and can catch a pass "in the flat" and do something w/it, unlike POLITE, who looks absolutely spastic on passes, and trips over his own feet most of the time. Last season, POLITE's pass-protect ability was mediocre on his best day, and his"lead-blocking" absolutely sucked Moosec*"k. The only thing he did well was convert 3rd/4th and 1 or less. But if he was better as a "lead-blocker", maybe MIAMI wouldn't have faced such situations so much. No wonder he was rated one of the worst FBs in the League.

MIAMI needed to upgrade the FB position, and HILLIARD is a big upgrade over POLITE. He can STILL be the "emergency HB": no problem there. This week, he'll be the FB.

And don't be too obsessed w/size. On PARCELLS' SB champion N.Y. GIANTS teams, the "lead-blocking" FB for JOE MORRIS (the "featured HB") wasn't even a FB!!! He was a HB named MAURICE CARTHON. Not the biggest, just the BEST.

clay has potential as a TE. especially with Fasano to compete with. Thomas better deliver with all they invested in him( considering Belicheck picks up cuts from other teams and runs them all ovr our a**)

D Thomas was a first day pick, what are you talking about? 2nd round? And anyways, **** this regime, everything they say in interviews is straight retarded. I don't care what they say anymore because they only say enough to cover their *****. I want to stay positive this year, but **** I can't help but laugh at some of the **** they try to pull over our eyes. I think some of the people on this site should try to apply for a job ( only a few haha).

You gotta be crazy to think Hilliard can't play FB. That's the only reason he's still on this team, he's very versatile. We'll be fine...
