that the raiders want to aquire a vetran QB so they can draft calvin johnson..one of there targets is daunte culpepper this is a blessing dolfans..but the whole key is the trent green deal! so if green is dealt watch the QB muscial chairs go into effect with pepper or rattay or mccown going to oakland so the draft will then look like this raiders browns and our dolphins

1. raiders calvin johnson
3.browns jamarcus russell
9.dolphins brady quinn...........

I hope there is some merit to this story. Not only would this allow us to get a pick to mitigate the Culpepper mistake, but it would push the top two quarterbacks down the board a bit.

I am not buying it. Why would the Raiders pass on Russell and trade for a marginal (McCown, Rattay,etc...) or injured (Culpepper) QB? I'd find it more believable if you told me that the prefer Johnson and will pick a QB at the top of round 2.

If CJ is the first pick, I would still worry about the Lions picking Russell 2nd, either for themselves or another team. The top QB prospect probably won't drop far, so I don't think we are out of the woods if the talented WR goes first.

Makes me wonder if the Raiders would keep both Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson. Talk about a nightmare for opposing defenses.

They still need to rebuild the offensive line though.

aqua and orange if raiders pick johnson first.....QUINN WILL BE A LOCK TO BE A FIN WRITE IT DOWN!

Al Davis will select who Al Davis wants....and why would he want Culpepper...a player that may not be able to play again....if he can get a younger version of Culpepper in Russell?

Cus he could get him for cheap and still put him on hold and draft a QB at 33. We would simply look to dump him off for a late pick and helps us get Quinn. Its common sense really and I think Boomer's mock certainly would point in this direction. Not saying it would happen but the move certainly could make sense if you see it better to get Calvin Johnson. CJ is a huge pick. Huge. No offense to Jemarcus Russell but CJ is a beast among beasts and this is probably what Big Al is thinking at the end of the day.

Much like Green would be a 1 - 2 year filler for our future QB, the Raiders are thinking the same way, and probably WILL select a QB in round 2.

Why get a younger version of Culpepper for ungodly amounts of money when he has so many questions?

Russells skills would even be underutilized if even given a good chance to succeed in the type of offense that the Raiders will be running.

It makes much more sense for them to draft the surer thing and best player in the draft, Calvin johnson.

They could then draft almost any other QB aside from Quinn or Russell at the top of round 2.
