Taylor unlikely to end up with Packers

Thursday, June 19, 2008 | Print Entry
Don't lose any sleep over over the rumor that Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor could end up with the Packers. While the Packers have looked at the possibility of a trade, talks between the two teams haven't developed to the point it could be considered a true possibility. Packers general manager Ted Thompson doesn't like to give away draft choices, and the cost of a second-rounder would go against his nature. Second, defensive end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila is optimistic he'll be ready for training camp despite a bad knee. The Packers have a deep defensive line and are more concerned about tackle than end. Odds are against a trade.

Sorry if this has been posted already....

GOOD. they wouldnt give up enough. i wanna see him redeem himself with double digit sacks

Yeah, I don't think this will pan out. It would be nice though, if we got a 2nd rounder or a WR out of it.

Curious statement, when you consider the following written just yesterday...

Yet the defensive line is actually coach Mike McCarthy's greatest concern.

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila is coming off arthroscopic knee surgery. Former first-round pick Justin Harrell has missed his second offseason, this time with an injured back, and has fallen behind. Colin Cole (forearm), Johnny Jolly (shoulder) and Daniel Muir (pectoral muscle) have also missed some time because of injuries.

"I'd just like to see those guys get healthy," McCarthy said. "You never want to see one particular group kind of dominate the medical report. We went through a situation last training camp with the running back group being hurt, so you can see how that affects that position, but it also can affect the way you go through training camp."
