Okay, so I sitting here thinking of what in tarnation we are going to do with our first pick in this years draft.

Let's all assume that we keep our pick. Quinn is gone by this point so let's not go there. I really think that LT is our major position of need. However, this thread got it's title from my not knowing whats going on with alabi.
IS he good. Is he not good. Do we like him do we not?

I was all for drafting Levi, until just recently I read that we are cam and houck are high on alabi. I know saban parted with us by saying the guy was on the rise, but than again saban picked him didn't he???

So I change my mind and was than leaning towards landry if we kept our 9th overall, I thought everyone else would be a reach. Until today I am thumbing around and here a few differing opinions on cam and houcks opinion on alabi.
Saying that we aren't that high on him, and the position needs to be addressed because alabi isn't going to be starter material and may need to sit some more.

So if any of you guys, especially you big dogs who seem to be right more often than not... ck, boomer etc etc.... what exactly is our position on alabi?
Are we looking for a replacement? Does the dude not understand what we need from him? Is he just not going to cut it? Or... is he our guy and we don't need to worry about finding a starting Left Tackle???

cheers fellow phinfans!!!

I think alot of what is going on in the NFL right now is the smoke screens and postering.

Real hard to tell what GMs are thinking. Until it is over with. Your FO could be very high on him and hence saying it is a position we need to look at. But in all reality could be looking somewhere else at 9.

Alot of times when these conflicting reports come out it is about setting a smokescreen up to hide where you really are thinking.

Just like in Buffalo. All over the place you are hearing about Adrian Peterson and moving up to get him. But in reality they may not want to move up but are just protecting their interest to get Willis or something like that.

Lots of postering going on. Not only for the draft but now FAs are coming a little cheaper being later in FA so hence you are trying to protect your interests there too.

Hey BFIP, your right...a lot of smoke screen going on this time of year. I think most all teams have their select guys that they are targeting at their respective position. Somones going to throw a monkey wrench into though, in the early picks, you can count on it. This is gonna cause some team or teams to panic and make a kneejerk reaction pick, or trade up or down. Especially the teams immediately behind the team that picks someone that isnt predicted to go there.

I think, IMO, this year is gonna be one of those years, moreso than any other in recent memory.
